So, my question is if dust goes null sec, what will we be doing? Will there be a "battle finder"? Or, do we just go out looking for trouble? Does anyone know or have a good idea what dust's null sec gameplay will be like?
Basic Understanding of how they want things to work:
First, they want to make sure that DUST does not need EVE and visa-versa. They want to try and keep the 2 games as autonomous as they can from each other, so that one is not forced to have to rely on the other. So a DUST Corp could own all the districts on a planet, while an EVE corp owns Space. As such, neither needs the other. They are considering 2 types of SOV: Planetary (DUST) and Space (EVE).
And the nitty gritty:
With that said, they want to show that working together can be mutally beneficial. For instance, if the same CORP / Alliance owns both the Planet and the Space, there would be bonus'. For instance, a spacebridge could be created. How is a spacebridge helpful? Well it would mean faster gathering of planetary resources for EVE; which means faster ISK gains for them. And since EVE can manufacture DUST items.. faster they get needed resources, faster DUST mercs get their items. Mutally beneficial.
As well, EVE players can create clones. Now imagine you fighting over a district and your team starts running low on clones.. guess who can send you some more
Remember, we are Mercenaries.. we don't have to stick with just one Corp / Alliance if we choose not to. We can sell ourselves to the highest bidder. And then negotiate.. You want those resources.. fine, but you have to pay for ALL our Tanks and Dropships, and provide us with Space support.
Traveling to the different star systems, that's what the Warbarge would be for. Eventually, Dust players will be able to own them. The Barge would contain our MCC, tanks, dropships, etc... Just as you see right before the game. These we would be likely flying from star system to star system, and deploy from there.
Which brings in another point, the Warbarge stays in space... so would it then also be subject to being blown up.. If so, it would be helpful to have some EVE players watching over it as you do battle for planetary control.
That's just some of the stuff they have explained and how they would like to see things work. Nothing is set in stone of course, and while nullsec is on their minds, they want to make the current systems work, before delving deeper into things.
