There will be those who will suicide gank war barges for Lulz. If the warbarge is in space at all (in the same concept of being in space with EVE players), I can see some very nasty (but appropriate for the EVE universe) things happening. The other issue I'm wondering about, is, since we can join the same corporations/alliances as regular EVE players, what happens during wardecks? That could prove very interesting on so many levels. |

It would be cool to eventually see the foot-game side of things take on a more quest-like, persistent, MMO-style of world that included the innards of EVE Online spaceships, stations, POS'es, TCU's, etc., where capsuleer and soldier could work together, maybe even fight along side each other during sieges.
It could open up exploration on a hole new level, adventure, quests, etc.,--but, yeah, lets avoid the theme park crap from WoW and keep it cold, cruel, open, and sand-boxy. |

Certain structures in EVE have to be "reinforced" before they can be captured. This is basically to balance out the fact that most gamers have real lives with jobs, spouses, and family they have to attend to and can't oversee their space empire for 24 hours a day. Even though internet spaceships are serious business, real life does have to come first... sometimes....
Basically, therefore, you can pull off a sneak attack on someone's player owned station if you want to (or their custom's offices, or certain other "large structures"--does not apply to ships), and after it takes so much damage, it goes "reinforced," which basically makes it immune to further damage for x amount of time (I forget the min/max), but the corporation CEO or director can set it to exit its reinforced period when you have the most people on. This gives you a chance to save the assets, which, also I should mention, is mostly unuseable while in reinforcement tower. Closest non-EVE analogy would be from Star Trek, "Channel everything but life support to the shields!" That pretty much sums up what reinforcement does in the lore--the structure channels ALL of its energy reserves to its shields for a short time, making it useless but hopefully giving you enough time to save it. |
