We have 2 types of suits based on their tank type: Type I / A / VK0 are the armor tank and have more armor then shield. Type II / B / VK1 are the shield tank and have more shield then armor. All fine by that. The problem I see is the slot layout for the armor type. The type I & II have 2 med and 2 low. This slot layout favor the shield tank as you can put 2 shield extenders (or 1 extender, 1 recharger ) on med and use the low modules for anything else (including some shield modules that fits on low). Type A & B have 3 med and 2 low that allow even more shield extenders to be put on while leaving low for anything else. Armor modules are all on low slots. So in order to armor tank you would need to use one slot for a armor rep leaving you with only 1 low slot available for 1 armor plate. Even with 2 armor plates, the Type A suit have less EHP then a Type I suit fitted with 2 shield extenders (of the same level). The slot layout should be something like this:
- Type I - 1 med , 3 low
- Type II - 2 med, 2 low
- Type A - 2 med, 3 low
- Type B - 3 med, 2 low
That would keep Type I & II to a total of 4 slots and Type A & B to 5 slots (as they are now) but give them different fitting choices.
P.S. Also shield regenerate while for armor you need a rep or a logi behind you. And the armor plates add a speed penalty. |

Those slot ideas aren't bad. AS For shield and armor Regen, with eve the shield is meant to come back much faster and easier but isn't as strong. Ago the resistances are worse and the hit points are typically lower. With armor it's easy to get lots of hit points and good resists but the repairs are slower, unless you have logi. That seems to be their direction for dust too. Shields being fast replenish way to lose with armor being tougher but harder to recover.
All that said some tweaks to resistances are still needed, and evidently resistances are being expanded and tweaked somewhere on the agenda. And i also support your slot ideas and I think sit bonuses will also help a lot with see the two tanks really separate themselves and have a purpose. |

A few things. First, is there a class you are referring to (I am too lazy to look up whether it's scout, logi, etc). Second, currently there is only one racial suit set per class. In Eve (and thus, I will assume, Dust in the future) each class of ship has counter parts for each race. Each of these counter parts is significantly different in both slot layout and bonuses (which are not in Dust yet, but probably will be). Further, each race has their own tendencies. EG, Amarr like lasers and armor.
When these aspects are added in, there will be a far wider selection and variation of suits. (But, I will admit, that I am assuming they will be added in). Still, good input. It may be best in the future to also establish what racial differences there should be in the suits. |

I was referring to the Assault suits, didn't really checked the other since this is what I play most of the time. |
