you are making the same mistake that Zipper and Sony made with mag. stop trying to protect the casual gamers. zipper tried to do this and their game failed at retail. yes, yes i know a bunch of fakers will try and puff it up like it was different. it wasn't. it failed. all because the devs wanted to make sure the casuals weren't "scared off". they got rid of all in game competition in order to pump up "sales". it killed the game. the casuals are not your bread and butter. they are fickle. they don't matter. they will come and go.
right now you are crushing the morale of the clans. you really need to stop with the training wheels and the montessori "Everyone comes in first" crap. leave that for ea, cod, mag, etc. I was hoping for different from you, in lieu of your attitude about EvE. bring that same attitude over to 514. don't soften it just because it's a different format and community.
1. let the clans join matches in squads of either 8 or 16. 2. break out the vote to kick. 3. break out prox chat for both enemies and team 4. break out FF=on.
there should be full blown pub room clan matches right now. those are going to be WAY more telling about the future of this game then all this pub room ez mode crap. this isn't a beta. it's more like a very controlled alpha. you guys are avoiding the real parts of what's going to happen in 514. not sure why. no reason to wait now.

You mean make Dust a futuristic SOCOM clone. People rarely stay in SOCOM for long, and for good reason. The biggest issues being that vote to kick and FF alienates new players due to their abusive use for getting rid of people who they don't want to play with.
Don't forget how vast this game is. The player count is going to need to be massive for things to work out the way CCP is planning for them to. We will need casual gamers just as much as no lifers just to fill in the void this game is going to have due to it's sheer size.
I can see no issue with CCP making a section of the game for FF and VTK, but to make the whole game have FF on and allow players to vote out people is to invite disaster. A casual gamer can handle getting kicked once or twice, but when they get votes out 5 times in a row and can't get anywhere in the game because no one allows them to play, they will give up on it. On the FF side, a casual gamer who get's FF killed every time they spawn in or try to cap an objective isn't going to stick around long either. Casual gamers need to be able to progress in the game without having to deal with elitist snobs who refuse to let them enjoy the game.
Then all that's left is the few who are willing to put up with that BS and the elitist snobs, and there goes your player base. You cannot make money off of a player base you do not have.
Just because Sony and Zipper messed things up doesn't mean that this game will have the same problem. It's a different company with different goals, however similar they may be to MAG. MAG is a cheap blueprint of what this game aims to be, but without gameplay that appeals to all sectors of it's playerbase it won't even get off the ground.
It sounds to me like your butthurt because you aren't getting the game made how YOU want it and ignoring the other sides of the issues entirely. |

i think i wrote an article about all this...
i know this already. thanks.
but this "beta" is false. they are getting false reads. the issue with the current isk glitch is a good example: clans are going to find every one of these glitches and work em like a prostitute on shore leave. so you may as well let the clans have at it since you'll get more done this way.
as for your casual gamer blarg: i can't support it. what is this build 2? and the casuals are the ones hiding on the mountain tops doing nothing. nothing. left up to the casuals this game will come out in 2018 and promptly be nerfed into unplayability. naw man, the casuals can show up and fill up high sec which is all they were going to do anyway. time for some null sec gameplay. enough of this babysitting the stat padders.
every other game on the market has space for the casual gamer. time for 514 to get out of the shallow end of the kiddie pool and let the adults swim.
let the clans have v2k, squads of 8 or 16, etc. turn on FF so we can see how good folks REALLY are. i think many are in for a shock.
oh yeah:
need real "looting".
not this loot drop crap. when the enemy body drops, it should sit there long enough for me or my teammates to go loot that s.o.b. for one of 3 random pieces of gear from his kit. THAT'S looting. what you got popping now is "loot dropping" and it's not the same thing and it kinda sucks as it's implemented.

I bought mag and put in 176 loving non fake hours into that game. I can still get into massive matches to this day. it did not fail what so ever. I only quit because It was getting old after 176 hours.

oh it failed.
what you bought was not mag.
mag only existed for the first week of the closed beta. after that week, they locked out the clans, just like they are doing here. a year later when they finally added clan support then went around begging the players from the beta to come back so they'd have enough players to test it, it was too late. any single group of players from the beta woulda beat the crap outta you and your entire clan with 1 testicle behind their backs. most of the beta players never had a problem with svers sabo. you late kids have no clue the ez mode crap you were handed. and you faced no real competition because the real competition had left for better games.
after the first week of the closed beta it became cod256.
i have no clue what you played but it wasn't mag. none of the clans were there.
yes, i mean real clans. the ones in the "mag" that you saw were zerg clans that really only knew one thing then and still only know that same thing to this day. to this day, most still have no clue what a skirmish line is.
my hope is that the real clans from the other games will be able to show up in 514 and show you this for a fact.
but if ccp is gonna sit around buttering the casual muffins that are so fixated on levelling up as to tank the match, then you can expect the same thing to happen: clans won't have anything to do in a clan based game and will move on as soon as Aftermath DLC drops or really anything else comes out.

So what op is saying, is that he is god, every one else needs to only want 100 tools like him playing that can kick every one else out of their games, and can all high five each other over how good they are.
1) this really is more of an alpha 2) we are still in high sec mode, once low sec and null sec come out they will have more difficulty for you elitests. 3) the 4 man squads are just fine, better solution would be to let a team of multiple squads join games together, that could get randomly set against other premade teams. I know you want to roll in with 16 of you and your douche friends and pub stomp randoms to make you feel better, but let's let a random team vs random team feature happen instead. With pubbies filling in the gaps. 4) let them release more stuff! This is only a tiny fraction of what's to come.

Peace B lol real clans? jokes there were real clans, giving up after 2 does not mean you played MAG either my friend. Reading the forums does not mean you play a game either. I was in big tactical clans that did not care about winning, only about playing fair and with strategy, just what MAG was about. Now i'm not trying to start anything but don't count ya'll chickens before they hatch.
don't like how Dust is playing, then write about it in the request and what ever forums then either don't play again or play again, simply whining about how it sucks does not help anything. |

1st point is good. Second point is bad... screw *voting to kick* people. If you have a full team of your own people, you can avoid that problem. Voting to kick is the pansy way out of problems. Backstabbing will happen. Get over it. 3rd point is personal opinion. And fourth point depends on null, low, or high sec. Obviously null-sec will have no limits on whatever you can do, etc etc. The second point is the main problem; it doesn't coincide with teams of 16 or FF with EvE rules.

what right have any of us to complain when this game is in its closed beta AND its going to be free for all to play????? i mean jeeze, this game really isn't noob friendly at all. Ever try walking someone new through the fitting options??? If not the equivalint is about the same as beating your head on a brick wall for and hour and three minutes!! Look, most of the stuff you mentioned will be added at some point, but for right now, let them dumb the game down. make it so that we can bring the casual players in and increase the player base, then we can see how things go from there. In a free to play game like this, the only viable marketing plan they have is to make it apeal to as many people as possible. As unfortunate as it is, the point of any business is to make money, and thats exactly what CCP has to do to stay afloat...... make money. Im not knocking them for that, im just saying thats how it is. |

This is a terrible terrible topic, you people should all shuddup and go back to school or if your a determined dropout just go back to COD. Your grammar and alot of spelling is terrible to the point that I was loosing track of what you were even saying because I couldn't tell the beginning and end of your sentences.
So to put this blunt and simple for why this topic shouldn't even exist, THIS IS ALL BETA, hell as far as most anyone cares this is Alpha but CCP wants to get this into a release candidate form sooner then later so it's being called Beta. There are MANY very significant planned changes in the works, what you see now is at best a Tech demo to prove basic concepts as they move into EVE integration. |

it seems your view is short sited. fact is there WILL be FF in the game, but just like in eve there is low sec and null sec we will participate in battles in these areas. they have already stated that FF will likely be present in the null sec area's.
see this game is going to be big real big and your just not seeing it. from what i can understand and have talked to people who play eve, its looking like this game is going to be huge real huge! |

i don't think that is possible story wise. i think the suit/equipment disintegrates. i think the "loot" is too good honesty. if i could sell my loot i would get a healthy sum of isk.
salvage is something i would think is possible recovering broken components that weren't completely destroyed that can be used to fix up a special module/weapon. |

I never played mag?
put down the crack pipe son
i was on a friggin call in radio show promoting that steaming pile of ****.
oh yes it had to do with the folks i played with:
again, we were forced to squad up with YOU randumb blue dots. WE had to wait for months til they implemented the clan support. playing with YOU guys on our team sucked the life outta the game
and again: the real clans left long before you leftovers showed up. you NEVER played the real clans, only fake zerg clans.
REAL clans over on bf3 would fold you up and put you to bed with half a magazine tied behind their backs.
they didn't get the chance to show you that
because the DEVS protected YOU from real clans.
that's what happened.. and the game failed. most fo you aren't "clan" members, yer just groups of mos wearing the same clan tag. that's not a clan. you guys take one clan battle loss and you break apart.
but hey if it helps you feel better about yourselves:
wow you guys were soooo great and mag was the only video game in the world that was great and only you guys and mag were great together.
which is why Zipper is opening another office and working on mag2 as we speak, right?
LOL thanks for the laughs, ladies.
