Thoughts? Makes me glad we have what we do now, minus the slower movement speeds. Kinda wish I could run as fast as Replication again. |

It was so much better back then. Very little was over powered. If anything. Then everyone cried about heavies ect ect. And the game went downhill to the pile of **** we have now. |

Lonewolf514 wrote:look no lag spikes.
Ha, there were lag spikes. But back then we called the lag spikes "stairs".
But all in all the tempo is a lot more lively and yes, I liked the movement speed in replication.
But where were the scouts with swarm launchers firing at feet? |

I actually think it looks fuzzier than what we're playing now. I didn't play that build, but I noticed the AR sounds different. (actually more like an AR)
Also, noticed there's a two-letter map. Why haven't I come across this? Was it a really small map? |

Lol i actually miss playing this build. I actually enjoyed the map(sorta) and although the hit detection was absolute crap it was still fun to be able to easily 1v5/1v6 lol. |

I've been very disappointed in the direction this game has taken over the course of the beta. Even with all of the bugs of the older builds, the OP swarm launchers, bad hit detection, the classes MEANT something. Scout was paper thin comparatively but moved so quickly it made it strong. Heavy was an absolute beast but you could out-flank their max turn speed so it was balanced.
Scout and heavy have been nerfed down to be nothing more than slightly modified extremes of the assault class, more HP and slow or less HP and slightly faster. Neither of which seems worth playing anymore unless you really want to use an HMG/forge.
By the time release comes around, they will have removed every unique characteristic of this game that really made it worth playing over the big name FPS games. The difference is this game doesn't have the production budget of the others or years of work adding to previous successful games. No offense to the developers or discredit to their hard work. Whoever is steering the production has given far too much weight to the complaints of the prevailing vocal minority of each build.
Hopefully they roll classes back to the way they used to be so this isn't just a Battlefield clone. |

deosn't that break the confidentiality rule that every one agreed to?
and it's funny that right bellow this thread is one saying "crybabies ruined this game" and here you guys are crying over it. made me lol
the game seems deeper then before, I started the beta back in july so yeah... somethings are OP but somethings you just need to bring to the atention of CPP and not complain about it. |

I would say that the suits all had a more unique personality. This is meant to be a game where "classes" are meaningless. In the sense that you can make what you want of the tools at hand.
But I do agree that all of the different suit types now feel more generic, or lifeless, somehow, Except the Logi suit/ class which is now much better.
Heavy is a lot closer to where it was in the old build relative to the other suits, but it does seem like everything else has gotten over worked and muddied to bring it all back to something close to what it used to be and that a lot of the life has gone out of the game.
But I really think it was a lot worse than we remember it. Maybe the thing to do would be to have a Replication weekend where CCP load us up with an exact copy of that build and we can watch 100 vehicles pile up as the RDVs keep em coming, or go back to play 2 matches, turn off PS3. Play a match, get crushed 7 times by a dropship. And do a refresher comparison.
I do agree that in trying to please all of us it may be that the vision of what the game is meant to be has gotten obscured. |

Best build as far as gameplay and map design goes. This is what we should be playing with the current graphics and hit detection. This "beta" has gone down hill. Looking at how much they change the mechanics and overall design of the game it screams they don't know where they want to go with this game. |

Look how far we've come....oh wait, are those the same guns, maps, graphics, poor hit detection, and uncoordinated team-play that we have now but with less lag? How long has it been? Five months? Nuff said. |

ye gods that video takes me back lol
yes, there where lag spikes and you needed to restart your ps3 every third game or get a crash but it was a LOT of fun, i still prefer the old skirmish method.
whats funny is i still remember some of the people in this video! since then some people left, others changed names, but a couple are still around ;) |

Jump/Nova for beta VIP Jenza for tanker champ (shoulda heard her laugh when I told her my gunloggi's were naked, no modules) Sha scout master Eukesei walking tank. He could make Jenza run away and just tank her fire. God mode engage
It's not nostalgia. It was better balanced than any other build except for the swarms. I loved this game back then. I hate Dust for what it is becomming.

No, some people like it, but back then when people said "this not for you, go back to CoD" I didn't want to. Because Dust was mad as a box of frogs. Now, I might as well. It isn't unique. Not the way it used to be. |
