I got 1 big question: does Av grenade minefielding count as exploting aswell? And yes you can clearly tell if some 1 is doing that by throwing 20 of them on the road with a nano hive. |

AV grenades don't go off unless a vehicle drives over them, thats the devs fault for not putting a timer on the grenades.
Nanohives only give so many grenades, supply depots are endless. Again thats the devs not fixing a known issue.
If they fix it by the tourny then thats that, but if not then its a fair option. |

If they want to acknowledge it as an exploit, then abusing it would constitute cheating. They've already commented that it's unintended behavior and they're working to fix it, but it may not be possible without a patch, which won't come for a while due to QA and certification delays.
Just because it's possible doesn't mean it's not cheating. |

Actually QA wouldn't need to touch it if its just a patch, only the large updates need QA testing.
Until its stated as an exploit, its one players opinion vs another. Im on the fence both ways, to me they are just grenades you don't drive over. You can see them if you are not driving like a maniac. But if CCP comes out and either fixes it or stats its a cheat, then it is not one. |

I just realized a few days ago that this was possible, I always assumed the nades burned out after a few seconds. I'm loving the landmine use of them currently, until it is aknowledged as an exploit or cheat, I will continue to do it when I feel it's neccessary.. like when theres 4 or 5 LAV trying to circle the map and just run/mow us over, thats a landmine moment |

Agreed, its not like we can call 5 LAV's or 4 Tanks or 3 Dropships fair? Swarm launchers have issues, CCP has stated they are fixing them, so AV mines are the counter to this. Love it or hate it, it is what it is. |

That's completely fair when Forge Guns can cripple them in one hit, the swarms are under powered, but not a bug like the AV grenade. |

QA needs to touch something if it's a code fix. If it's just a database fix (lowing the damage or range of something etc) then they don't need to get it approved by sony.
As far as cheating/exploiting goes... CCP Wolfman has confirmed the grenades themselves have a bug with them not going off as intended. As far as minefielding goes, it has never been directly declared an exploit but has been called "unintentional".

tbh i think its quite good, stops LAV spam and fills a much need role of laying traps for tanks etc, maybe the nade itself is a bit off, but having some form of landmine option is only a good idea |

look in the market there are av mines, under remote explosives. This is a bug that needs to be fixed |

Ah, that's why the tanks keep blowing up supply depots. I was wondering about that.
I'd imagine one solution could be to make the grenades destructible -- if one of them takes enough damage it goes off. I'd be awesome to watch those fields go up in flames. |

What about skilled dropship pilots being able to permantly elude swarm launchers, is this an exploit?
Or, when a team calls down a bunch of gimmie lav's to have the RDV's collide with a dropship, is this an exploit?
Is there a list of known exploits? |

They use to have timers, then the timer stopped working. I know CCP said they are changing it, but was it a test or a bug. I had thought it was a test and they didn't like the resulting minefield spam. |

exploiting and discrimination before the tourney. whats ccp going to do so that the kb/m players that havent been able to play since the begining of codex catch up skillpoints wise?
i know the mouse sensitivity issue is still being looked at, last time i checked (yesterday) it still isnt fixed. |

Tbh if kb/m players don't bother to grind out their SP then they'll get slaughtered. Use a DS3 and play some games for the sake of your corp. I really hate this build, but it's just one of those things really. To stay competative you have to play :( So I'm playing. |

offtopic but was thinking last night. it's taken this long to get a bug looked at what the hell is it going to be like EVERY time they patch or improve the game when it gets released (obviously q+a spotted it and they just released the codex build anyway, screw the kb/m player they are second class citizens). it's taking way too long to get patches and hotfixes out on this ps3 format. it's not like EvE where they can just hotfix it, that's what it seems like anyway. It's something every PC gamer/EvE player needs to know when considering purchasing a PS3 console.
and it's not an issue of can't be bothered. game has been unplayable for weeks for some KB/M users. |

Yes its an exploit
Nades go off after a period of time or are ment to, instead they are acting like AV mines which they are not

I'd personally class this as a massive exploit.
When there's proximity AV mines on the market, it's fairly bloody obvious that this is exploiting if you ask me. If it wasn't then you'd be able to throw infinite of those down too. |

Two things happened in the last 30 days, one we had the Tokyo Show and then EU went on holiday for 1-2 weeks.
From my few friends in EU, everyone goes on holiday at certain points in the year, unlike the US.
Most of the time, if you look back there is a weekly adjustment to in game issues, but with these two events thats not been possible but they are back and are already in discussion about fixes, as posted in LINK which even states: "Hello everyone, we are back from our vacation and below is the list of bugs that the team examined this week"
In that section is this for KBM: [BUG] Mouse sensitivity in Codex: too high Status: tracked, dev team working on a fix.
also in the previous post in that section was this:
"Dear players,
The Shanghai office will be on holidays next week so there will be an hiatus on the weekly updates until OCT 16th. We will resume the weekly updates around that time. Thank you."
So don't blame the devs on being on holiday and not doing weekly updates. |

i know the reasons, does that help me and others now we are behind weeks in sp, nit picking i know but that makes us extreemly competetive for the tourney doesnt it? like i said in post earlier they knew it was broke and said screw it and released the codex patch anyway - they knew there wouldnt be anyone there to fix it during national holidays in china. no way their q+a guys missed it. PC gamers who are willing to spend money on a console need to realize this. my point is this will be an ongoing thing with every improvment and patch in the game for years to come.
ive more or less decided to sell my console but someone but should speak up for the dedicated EvE players that actually went out (and will in the future) and spent money on a console with the intention of only playing using a keyboard and mouse, could have spent -ú270 on pc upgrades, anyway worked it out i wont lose much if i ebay now. now if lovefilm would jusy hurry and send me RE6 so i can finish that before i sell, save me having to endure yet another terrible console port to pc. |

Behind in SP's its a beta, who really cares about a beta and SP's?
Codex fixed tons and tons of things from the previous build, did it not? With every update you fix as much as you can, hope for the best and see what happens. The next build will do the same. Ill take Codex vs the E3 build, sorry but thats the truth. I don't miss restarting my game every other match.
LOL, your comment about China cracks me up, dude now you are just being unrealistic about devs, again BETA not real game yet. Yes QA misses a lot of problems, you must be new to sony QA.
As with Eve, with DCUO, with WOW and all games like it, its ALWAYS an on going process. Go look at WOW history they had far, far worse then this many times. Took 3 years to fix the Paladin class, FML..
KBM will be fixed, you are to impatient if you are going to sell your PS3 over issues in beta, seriously you are kinda acting like a spoiled brat, no offense but you are. Things take time, fixes take time.
Patience my friend its a virtue. You need to get some. |

had a post forums swallowed it. broken game beta isnt the reason i decided to sell, game will never be hardcore enough for me. the way i see it heading i dont like what i see. im ont the best player in the world but i need something to push my limits. it doesnt do what other games havent done before it exept for the massive step they took to make this game o7 itll work. imo they are following the ties to eve too much and not making dust a ******* good game in it's own right.
edit and my post about china was about a weeks holiday they have? why it would crack you up idk. maybe im wrong but it sounds like a bigger party than amsterdam on a new years eve. |

Please don't think I don't appreciate what you are saying, I do. This is my 10th Beta game and I have learned that what you get in beta is never, never close to what we get when the game comes out. My fear is that you sell your PS3, then you come to find out the game is fraking amazing and you missed out. We are close to game release, I know you fear it will come to soon and have issue, but games now days come out this way. Example is DCUO the first 3 months were terrible, needed so much work, then the PSN hack happened and still after that it was bad, then server issues so bad you waited in line for hours to get in. While you think that would send players away, it didn't. I am under the impression you think if you think if comes out bad it will kill the game, but strangely it might not.
Like you I want something thats new and hard. The reason why I don't play COD, BF and that sorta game, I need more then just the basic FPS. I think its coming, I think there is a chance what you and I need is coming. But we can't use Beta as the example, because we only see maybe 35% of the game so far.
Ok, so in EU there is work time and holiday time, places in EU will shut down for holiday and everyone goes out and about, some countries (japan, finland, sweden) those vacations or holiday are mandatory. Wish we had that in the US, its been 5 years for a holiday for me.
My advice, wait have some patience about this. Go play another game or take some time off. But wait to sell the PS3.
Good chat, GTG back to work. DP |
