Why would anyone sink in a single isk into vehicles when you know it WILL be stolen. I know codex has corp battles, where you know your assets will solely be used by your own corp mercs. other than that, why would you call out a costly asset to the battle. I had a fellow corp mate get his expensive dropship stolen by one blue dot who crashed it within few seconds. Unless you plan to sit in your vehicle almost all times, you know it will be gone in no time. In MAG, a blue dot could use all assets, except for driving other squad's APCs. If something similar isn't in the making already, I think it should be considered by CCP. |

I always find a quiet corner of the map before bringing in something expensive. Never had a problem with an ally stealing a valuable vehicle before. |

Roll with a squad dude! Have them take over your vehicle if you need to go hack something or shoot someone in the face! Thats where corps and clans are very useful! You know for sure they wont steal your vehicle and run away! |

Actually, I feel there may be a timer on vehicles to prevent the not-owner from hopping in as soon as it lands, something like five seconds or so. I sat right next to a LAV as it landed, mashed the O a few times, and nothing happened... the then guy who owned it ran up to it, hopped in, and lo and behold 'press O to enter' appeared. |

In random matches that might be true, but most likely you are playing with same team over and over again (corp). In those cases it should not become a habit as... People would either leave themselves or ceo would kick the teamwork-hindering player. |

i'm in agreement with OP. there should be some sort of 'squad only' DNA lock feature optional setting or something. i can't tell you how frustrating it is to set up an overwatch with an LAV, switch to your turret, line up a great shot, and all of a sudden some SMURF has hijacked you and you're careening all over the place. and they INVARIABLY just flail around and drive you straight into a swarm launcher. |

There are two sides to this coin.
On one side, you called it down and you have plans for it that you think will greatly aid in winning the fight. I called an LAV down once and had it positioned to defend a null cannon that was the center of attention at the moment. But then some douche canoe got in and proceeded to drive it full speed into a crowd in hopes of running someone over...we both died.
On the other side, that vehicle you called down could be very useful in an engagement on the other side of the map. And it could help your allies keep their ground and possible winning the battle.
We also have to understand that many of these testers are competing against you when it comes to vehicles. When they see you call something down, they'll never think about who built it or who's money went into it. All they know is that they can use it and if they're stupid enough, they'll think that you called it down for them. Past FPS games are to blame for this, vehicles spawning out of thin air for anyone to use. Making players compete against allies for who gets to drive them. These players have carried that "MINE" mentality to Dust and let's just hope that doesn't ruin game play. |

i would even go for a 'self destruct' option, just to keep people from misallocating your resources. |

They should hear a beeping sound so they know it's coming. |
