It's graphics are limiting only by the platform you are putting the game on. Remember dust has a terrible texture loading issue that makes it look like a ps2/ps1 game. It will be fixed. To test this fix stare at an ugly gray crate on any map. Make sure it looks super ugly. Then wait 2 minutes, don't look away.
TADA, high res textures suddenly appear!
Point is it's awesome and you should make games with it too. : ) Textures taking ages too load = proof of awsomeness? The way Unreal Engine handles textures is one of the worst aspect about it, simply because of the pop-in. No point of having hi res textures if you can't even see them most of the time.
valve are guilty too.

But we're way too far into development now to make any fundamental engine changes (not to mention the whole licensing situation). It could change if Dust is developed on PS4 or other next gen consoles in the future (or even PC) but for now we'll just have to make do. Dust is not going ti be 'developed' for ps4 as its basically going to be a direct transfer. (Buy ps4, download dust client, input details, pick up from where you left off on ps3) They are probably aware that unreal 3 doesn't perform to its maximum potential on ps3 due to the fact ps4 will be out within two years, so when ps4 is released......unreal 3 will run max performance. They planned ahead is all, very smart thinking on ccp's part I say.
******* dumb asses tieing themselves to a ******* donkey.

They would have done good to use something like the Havok engine, which is proven to work extremely well on the PS3. The Unreal engine just doesn't seem to play well with the PS3 architecture. My guess is that before Sony bought the exclusivity, the 360 was the main focus and thus the Unreal engine would have performed admirably, while us PS3 users would have gotten the shaft, as like the olden days...
Consoles in general wasn't a main focus back then ... it was a goal, but not the focus. PC gaming is still relevant, but now a days, console gaming is larger, that's why I'm sure Epic will be working much more closely with Sony, Microsoft, etc to make UE4 work as best as possible
and still ******* fail. 128 players in this game and im still waiting. |

Correct me if I am wrong. LOL U MUST BE A BF3 PLAYER? I am to but I'm sick of BF3 due to the lack of customization in your character. Dust 514 and planetside 2 is what I always wanted. I don't care about blowing up buildings. Besides, the buildings rarely are blowed up in battlefield. its just a gammic lol
what about dynamic maps so your not playing the same old **** every time?

Five Stars! Trolling aside... Well, what I really want is to destroy bridges. Massive glob of enemies? Use a remote explosive and blow the bridge up. Even better if you covered the alternative route. Plus, remote explosives would actually be useful then.
1+ anything so maps change and tactics change, preferably not player driven. - road got washed away cant take tank there now, rethink tactics on the hop. |
