please. i'm begging you.
that way we can move on and talk about other things in this forum, rather than 50 thousand "waaaaah this game is boring slow campfest even though I really don't know what camping is" threads and every other thread devolving into a strafe speed argument.
CCP, just raise the strafe speed. raise EVERYONE'S speed, moving, sprinting, strafing, reloading, shooting, driving raise it all to the ceiling.
for every suit.
don't worry about anything else, just make the game as fast as you can possibly make it.
hurry up and do that. asap.
give us the super-fast arcade shooter that everyone wants and everyone claims that you wanted to make. Despite the ignorance that goes around these parts, the game was always a tactical shooter even when it had fast strafe speeds. People just moved around the map more instead of hiding behind rocks and in corners. Just because they raise the strafe speed that doesn't make this game an arcade shooter. There is to much tactics and meta gaming involved for this to ever be an arcade shooter.
What do you mean we "claim" that's what they wanted to make. This game was faced pace and fun once upon a time. Its not a myth. Its fact. |

I honestly think the fact that most people were having more fun 2 builds ago when hit detection was crap says it all.
Current build is dull and slow. |

Aighun wrote:Yes, this is like beating a dead horse, now, two weeks into this build.
But in a game meant to out last the PS3 it deserves as much attention as it gets in these forums.
Just to reconfirm my impressions of slow left analog movement, I got over to a quiet section of the map in a scout suit. I ran, I jogged, I walked forward. Then I used the left analog stick to move my character side to side. The difference is absurd. The side to side movement is a slow lumber that not even an aging, out-of-shape fat man like me would envy.
It is just really poor in game movement. It isn't in keeping with the already slow movement your character is otherwise capable of.
If they want to keep a lid on side to side strafing and circle strafing they could make moving sideways and successive left to right movement deplete the stamina bar like running, or make it so that your character slows over time. But the base movement speed with left analog is really almost laughable. Just on a basic moving object with controller in a game level. I started a thread last build asking for a strafe speed buff. It went on for like 24 pages. I come back for this build just out find that strafing has been nerfed again. LOL wtf ccp?
I am gonna beat this horse until it decays into the ground. Hopefully ccp will get the message this time. |

But yeah, sure buff the speed, let the scouts kill EVERYTHING again. apparently thats how CCP wanted the game to be from day one, Ccp has stated that the scout should be able out maneuver a heavy. Its part of the perfect imbalance equation. In replication scouts could spin around heavies. That is how they had intended the game to be before everyone started crying.
I think its funny that people always said that we are telling ccp what to do and we are trying to change their game. When the truth is we are telling them to make the skill based game they first envisioned in replication.
The problem was never the strafe speed it was partially hit detection and partially lots of PC gamers who were having trouble adapting to the DS3. |

Tyrus Four wrote:so when a Scout ballet-dances around a Heavy so fast that the heavy can't turn and track him....this means the heavy has no gungame? or what? LOL all it takes is a few sprays to splatter a scout with an hmg. If you let him get that close to you and then precede to spin on you then you deserve to die. I played heavy in replication and I killed so many scouts. The ones that did kill me did so because they outplayed me. |

Tony Calif wrote:LoL scouts. More strafe speed. I could honestly care less about scouts. Every class needs a small strafe boost. Obviously heavies would get the smallest strafe boost for balance purposes. It would be unfair to buff assault strafe and not buff heavies strafe. If everyone can strafe somewhat healthy then people shouldn't complain to much about scouts. Just aim with the left joystick let them strafe into your bullets lol. |
