Much like the OP in this thread is a whiner, because he's actually whining about Drop ships having a flight ceiling now. Oh nooes, now they move so fast they can't be taken out by swarms, and are **** all hard to hit with a forge gun. As opposed to how they were before, when they could simply fly about the district ceiling, stay stationary, not be hit by anything, yet the gunners could still fire and hit things on the ground with the rail and missile turrets. Nope, that didn't need to be fixed at all...wasn't any blaring faults with that scenario.
There isn't a whole lot wrong with AV right now, other than not being able to counter drop ships at all. There is nothing really wrong with HAV's now, other than they aren't invincible solo pwn mobiles now. If they have support gunners or a logi supporting them they're still pretty tough. Trust me, most of the ppl whining about 1 hit kills in an HAV from militia swarms either aren't paying attention to their dmg meters, or not realizing they were getting hit likely by several AV/Flux nades at the same time. They just see the swarm launcher being the killing blow and rage about it. Fact, forge guns and swarms to around the same total damage per hit. I know for a FACT it takes a good 6 shots to take out an average fit standard tank with a blastwave 9k330 forge gun (the aurum one), and thats at reasonably close to mid range. Therefor it's going to take about the same amount of hits to do so from an equal level swarm launcher.
About heavies, it wasn't just heavies that got the bat on that one. All suits above militia or standard did. I so enjoy getting gunned down in an assault suit, but random spray from an AR. At least most snipers take at least 2 shots. I think that also goes along partially with my noticing that shield recharge and armor repair don't appear to actually repair your suit to the other players. I do agree that higher level suits need some kind of a resistance, toughness, or base hp buff.
The logi thing is temporary until they can do a major patch. Much like this poster is whining. Dropships arnt that hard to kill. Only skilled dropships are hard to kill, as it should be, and only by skilled forgegunners (See Kain Spero vs Sin3). Sorry you dont have a one shot blapcannon. If you would take the time to read some of my other posts you would know that I have advocated for BALANCING the swarms and forges to make it where skill in use is more valuable to taken dropships and tanks out. But no, you're just another whiner who wants everything on EASY MODE cause you can't be bothered. Actually, on that subject, why not have swarms or some other variant of them be laser guided? I mean, the lock-on ability is essential for taking down aircraft, but why not have a heavier AV weapon designed specifically for hunting tanks that requires you to keep the reticle on the target to score a hit? That way you can have a very deadly AV weapon without making it instagib Dropships and LAVs. |
