Ive got a new idea to give dropships a additional function. Be aible to transport vehicles (HAV/LAV) like a RDV can do. To balance this deactivate all turrets on the vehicle that gets transported until it gets dropped on the ground again. Would be nice to see a quick fully loaded tank deployed on the frontline by a dropship. What do you guys think about this? |

It's an interesting idea, but t would probably difficult from a programming stand point, and I don't believe it would accomplish too much. Once something has been deployed, you can simply drive it to where you need it and it has the bonus of transporting troops. If it's in the air being carried with troops, then the dropship becomes a very large target with substantial losses should it be downed. If the maps were the size of large islands, at least, this would be necessary. But with how small the maps are now, I don't think it's required yet.
Still, a very cool idea, with some neat visuals attached. (Also, I would suggest a weight limit. Maybe LAV. HAV would be rather heavy for a drop ship) |

I'm hoping that eventually we will see more diverse maps, possibly including island maps, where this kind of thing will be useful. I'd like to see it as a special dropship variant, however. Smaller passenger compartment, and maybe no guns.
It could also come in handy if we implement some sort of "vehicle return point" somewhere in the team's spawn zone so that a vehicle brought there will either be despawned from the map and returned to the owner's assets or simply allowed to remain without self-destructing. This way a team could call in HAVs to control the open section of the map, then switch to infantry to assault enclosed compounds. While they prep for that one or two dropship pilots can be returning all the surviving HAVs to the collection point. |

I'd prefer this role be assigned to something like the Heavy Dropships talked about in Templar One. We already have the Heavy Aircraft radar icons, after all. |

Well, if ccp doesn't mind asking for help, warhawk had a system like this in one of the addons. They can ask how they did it. Assuming they will tell ccp. |
