On early beta the game was pretty much a free for all and bar its many bugs, it was actually quite fun, we got to tinker around with our skills and fight on a pretty level playing field. As the game has evolved through beta my worst fears seem to have materialized. Now it seems the game is completely unplayable unless you join a game as part of a pre existing squad, otherwise your always finding yourself being completely overwhelmed by squads of super organised hardcore dust players.
I'd hate to see dust being a flop just because every new player just gets curb stomped from day one.
Has CCP any plan to address this potentially game killing issue?

There is nothing they can do, nothing that any Developer can do to stop groups of organized players from stomping on random noobs bro.
It happens on ANY online game.
CCP has been smart enough to understand this and provide gameplay areas for the organized players, so they can focus MOST of their attention of curb stomping each other.
However, there will always be players grouping up, even in games that were launched with out a party system. (Three in the last 12 months) and even if they launch the games with out a functioning comm system and tiny squads like Bf3... people still grouped up, and stomped random players.
If they got rid of corps entirely, comms and party systems... people would use skype, jabber, teamspeak ect for comms... and would jump into the queues at the same time to end up in the same game and would still function as a squad.
Again... there is no way to stop them.
Besides joining a clan/corp to better defend yourself.
You know this better than anyone from your experience on Eve.
Experience is the knowledge you gained from FAILING.
Let the nubs fail... and then as they learn to adapt, they gain valuable experience that will serve them well in their offline lives.
Such as the value of TEAMWORK. Group relationship skills. Communication and Group Leadership and Organization.
That is the beauty of EVE, and why I am here for Dust.
I want to play in the sandbox, and make the other kids take their toys and go home. |
