there have been other posts about this before the hot fix, but seems DEVs haven't taken notice. AV grenades stay on the ground even after death. There is no way to destroy them and they home onto targets, so they're much better than proximity mines. I have seen exploiters running with AV nades and nanohives and filling the map with deadly immortal almost invisible AV grenades. |

I guess I'm an exploiter then cause i love making mine fields for all the people that lean on LAVs constantly, its fun to watch the pricks walk for a change, that said hopefully it gets fixed soon, building mine fields is time consuming although funny and worth it. |

This has been noticed by devs, and they are removing AV nades. Proximity mines do a better job anyways. |

yes i can confirm this. Runned into people who are abusing this and the whole squad puts down av grenades on the road. Dont have to tell how deadly this is for a tank or LAV when it runs into a stockpile of like 10 av grenades. |

They're not removing them altogether, they're working on removing their ability to act as mines, since them laying there forever like that is unintended behavior. It's being looked into and we haven't gotten an ETA on when it'll be fixed yet. I don't think Wolfman knows yet whether it can be fixed without a patch, as there are a number of problem areas affecting it, so they might not all be fixable server-side.
To the above, source is me asking Wolfman directly in IRC about it. |

i was sorta hoping that this was a feature instead of a glitch. cuz lets be honest, the ability to explode for splash damage is next to worthless, i prefer them this way.
though i guess the infinite amount thing is an issue.
does anybody know what the damage is like on the proximity explosive? so long as they're BETTER there's no reason they cannot co-exist with these new and improved AV grenades.
but yah, i vote to keep the functionality and just put a cap on how many a player can have deployed at a time. i think 3-4 is about right. you can have 2-3 out and still toss one at a time. |
