And it got me wondering: Should we ever be able to duel-wield guns in Dust 514? Has this already been confirmed? Do you see any practical application for this? |

I say restrict to side arms with one handed operations only, have each weapon take up a slot, and finally no ads with them, and a high slot to assist reloading and be a module of bonus providing should dual weild ever need it to put it on par as an option against single handed operation. |

I really like the option of dual wielding (of course only for sidearms) but there should be a reduction in releoding speed or a skill that allows dual wielding. |

There should also be reduced accuracy and or increased kickback, it should be primarily for up close frontal damage. |

I hate dual-wielding... We ain't in hollywood. We're supposed to be trained mercs. And you'll never see any trained force using double wielding non-sense crap. |

I wonder how.... but it is possible :) (Eve have -> overload, here we can dualwields)
1. Fit SAME (seidearms?) weapon at weapon slot, so only combination for now:
nova + nova SMG + SMG pistol + pistol
And sorry no logistic guy for now (but screen with two SMG is great) Having SMG + AR or AR + AR little over powered but still possible. Rest of combinatios.. seems out of logic/usefulnes.
2. Less accuracy (but probably skil to level this up)
3. Reload time: x2.5 ... x3
And that is it. Done.

in my opinion the only thing in this game that needs to be dual wield is the nova knife! |

dual wielding is very bad.
i totally agree with everyone else in this thread that it is a very bad idea. even halo got rid of dual wielding because it was a dumb idea. |

Only on THREE ARMED clones since you need a third hand to reload since both hands are busy with the gun triggers.

Why not require each weapon to be holstered alternately while reloading? You get double dps at the cost of a 6-8 second reload. |

Does anyone know if CCP has already mentioned duel-wielding?
Also, I'd assume reloading would be handled as suggested above me, where one gun must be holstered so your free hand could load the other gun, thus combining the guns' reload times.
Also, perhaps duel-wielding would combine well with the jetpacking idea that I've heard elsewhere. Perhaps we could have a special suit type that has a jetpack, but can only use two sidearms and no large or heavies (which would make them great assasins, but unable to perch on a roof and snipe).
What do you guys think of this? |

Six to eight seconds? thats a loooong time when theres a jerk like me using a militia smg on some poor orange clone trying to reload and the clone usually dies with a three second reload time.
Just place dual pistols on a clone and label it 007 and its good to go. |

Presumably the weapons are designed with this in mind. IE, if a single weapon was held by a normal human the recoil would break them. Not designing weapons like this, which would give them more firepower, etc, would just be silly. Presumably the theoretical Dust scientists are slightly competent. |

If they make it so bad and impractical so that no one would use it, like in real life, then I'd be okay with it.
Or they could just not implement it and save the time and effort. |

Honestly you would probably be able to interupt the reload of the second gun after you reload the first and just use the one gun like normal if the situation was that tight. You would just resume loading the second gun automatically once you stop shooting long enough. |

i support this idea IF
both weapons take a 50% accuracy nerf while doing so.
this on TOP of what ever accuracy rating is already there.
you could actually go negative if done right.
but yeah: no dual wield unless both weaps are nerfed while being dual wieldededed.
