The strafe nerf promotes camping on the already huge maps. Gameplay doesn't have the same exciting feel anymore. I want that adrenaline back please ccp. Gameplay is boring imho. Make the movement smoother and faster.

the only strafe change needed is to balance it around all suits properly. having lower strafe speed is fine but only when the difference between all the suits is significant enough which at the moment is not the case. all speed stats are currently messed up, the speed difference between scout and assault is marginal but the gap in shield, armor and fittings is huge. |

To this i would say obviously its not how its was intended to be played or we would be playing it like that right now.
PS .Has any one ever seen this argument on a pc shooter ? I was wondering if the obsession with strafe speed was a purely controller based thing as ts so much easy-er to track a moving target with the mice that strafing has little effect . Its been while since i played a pc shooter but i think its more about fast accurate aiming than dancing maby thats what ccp are aiming for ? |

so are you saying that the game is intended to be snipers or heavies only? because that is what it's turning into at this rate.
by your logic why didn't they just remove the scout suit, it obviously doesn't do anything other than be shot and killed. |

No the reason for this is u are telling a massive over-exaggeration i would say hevys are only ever present in 1s and 2s snipers maby a bit more but they are still both even added together much less than the AR assault guys
or are u saying all u see are snipers and hevys ?????
PS i have had some success with the standard scout suit its very good for using cover to fight whith due to its speed and recharge . I have however found that the days of charging bigger suits and relying on speed to keep u safe are gone AND SO THEY SHOULD BE i dono maby u should use the scout suit for something radical ...scouting |

i play EVE i know what is out there.
it's going to be a vicious suit to have a 800+ HP heavy with 2-3 10% resist modules and a HMG with a logi standing right behind him. |

Thank you. Not just strafing though. The game sorely needs an increase to movement speed overall. I was somewhat skeptical about this when I first started this build, but in all honesty I myself can sprint faster than our characters seem to, and that's kind of off. |

Also agree with the overall movement speed... it does seem a little too slow.

wait... wait... nerf bunny hopping? what? do you just want to make it so we can't jump in combat or something? lmao. You can only jump twice in a row with an assault suit before you start failjumping and run out of stamina. any more and you are basically asking them to just remove the jump feature. which is ridiculous.
at any rate, strafing does need a buff. For all suits TBH. Nerfing strafe has made the heavy suit insanely powerful. This is why you see so many fat suits with HMG's now. they can actually hit people. The nerf essentially gave the fat suits the same "tracking" as say.. an assault suit.
I thought the same principals of EVE would apply here, the bigger they are, the slower they track. Similar to the way you can't hope to hit a frigate with a battleship in EVE, a heavy should have a hard time hitting a scout suit in DUST, that said, the scout suit should have an equally hard time killing that heavy before the heavies friends arrive to clean house.
But hey, maybe I'm wrong. maybe this is supposed to be gears of halo 3: modern battlefield. :P (it's a joke) |

Yeah, whatever Infinity. You're a sniper, I don't expect you to ask for high strafe. But I don't see you saying the reduce recoil on snipers is unnecessary. Which is blatantly is. 2shot kills have never been easier. But you won't say it's not needed, because it benefits you. Gz.

At one point one of the players participating in the discussion for the first post dismisses another player because "he wasn't a veteran". The current strafe speed probably isn't the final strafe speed, but that doesn't mean that we need a security blanket solution of "give me moar strafe speed ."
The second post was looking for other options, and devolved into a "buff strafe speed/don't buff strafe speed" argument with a good amount of name calling, ideas ignored under the cry of "MOAR STRAFE SPEED," and ignorance.

It was mainly the hit detection for me, literally kept the hmg centered on the scouts head with very few hits registering.
