For me skills seem not rewarding enough. Don't get me wrong I don't want skills to be overpowered but I want to feel a difference between a lvl 1 skill and a lvl 5 skill.
I think all skills could give slightly higher bonusses (maybe 6 or 7 % instead of 5 or 3) and all skills should give a bonus.
Right now there are some skills (even expensive ones) that only unlocks new stuff. The worst example is the dropsuit specialisation a 8x skill so you need 49760 SP for level 1 thats a lot for not giving any bonus. It would be pretty cool when these skills give different bonuses for all suits. For example by leveling scoutsuits there could be a speedbonus for these. Every suit could get his own small bonus.
Apart from this there are some skills that doesn't feel rewarding because of game mechanics or in some cases due to the percantage based bonus.
Some weapon skills are a bit pointless (AR and Sniper Rifles for example) because you don't recognize the bonus at all. ARs have no remarkable recoil so it doesn't matter if the skill is level 5 or 1. The same is true for sniper rifles, when you crouch there is no scope sway so why bothering with those skills. The only thing these skills are good for is unlocking new weapons right now.
A skill that suffers from the percantage based bonus is the skill for improving the amor repair rate. By fully maxing this skill you get 15% bonus to the repair rate that means to get 1 HP/sec bunus you would need a repairmodule with a base repair rate of 9. Without a rpairmodule you get nothing out of this skill that seems pretty week compared to shieldhandling which gives an bonus to shieldreloading (even whithout any module).
A simple solution could be making the bonus a fixed value for example granting 0.5 HP/sec repair rate per level. With this change you could get a base repair rate of 2.5 which is only little higher than a militia repairmodule (even without any repairmodul equipped).
So what do you think or am I the only one that feels this way? |

Keeping in mind that his is not a finished product I do agree with you that some of the skills are useless and some are just garbage for the bonuses they give (see swarm launcher).
CCP has mentioned that they are working on balancing the skills, and making them more usefull. We have already seen this in the skill levels offering access to new gear at almost every level. So, we can see that it is in the works. Hopefully, they'll get it right, I believe they will. |

In eve, most ships have bonuses associated with the skills required to fly them. Hopefully this will be the case with the dropsuit skills as well. |
