Yup you can shoot swarm rockets at the drop ship all day long and only a few will hit if they are sitting still. Otherwise they can lazily drift in circles and avoid rockets.
When I say lazily, I mean someone with the reaction times of a slug can avoid rockets being shot by multiple players and barely lose 50% shields.
Rocket telemetry, speed and flight path all needs a buff.
Rockets are too weak, too slow, and very poor at tracking the target.
I would much rather just have a rocket that shoots straight so I can lead the target and actually hit the damned thing.
Right now, I have to wait for a lock on (wasting time) and then I watch as my rockets that fly so slow one is amazed that they stay in the air creep far behind the drop ship as the pilot leads them into walls and buildings with out much skill or effort.
The drop ship should not be nerfed. The problem is the rockets imo.
Right now the best way to take out a drop ship... is with another drop ship or tank.
Once again the swarm launcher is impotent in being effective against a vehicle... which of course is it sole intended purpose.
Hopefully CCP can fix this one pretty quick.

Let me be clear. I don't think that one guy should be able to shoot down a Drop Ship with only one volley of swarm rockets. But if he is locked on with in 50m of the target... he should be able to land most of them on the drop ship.
Right now it doesn't play out that way due to the almost ridiculously slow speed at which the rockets travel.
Buff the rockets, leave the drop ships alone. |

What u talking about a swarm missils tracking is horrendously wel u cant dodge them just out runthem then they send dropships for a whirl if they hit the pilot unexpectedly or just right to where u make the dropship crash. Swarms have enough dmg to eat through a well armored dropships tank most can take 3-4 shots befor going down or being in dire needs of repair. Yes a swarm missile is slow enough to where it cant match a dropships top speed but it takes a dropship a long time to go from a siting still hover to top speed then if u make a tight turn u lose ur sped and wam ur hit by a barrage of swarms thats built up over time. Dodging swarms are imposible and ive tried this i have actually flown straight over incomeing swarms so we are now heading in opposite directions which would cause most missels to lose a lock. My gunners then sit there in amazement as they watch the same missiles make a 90 degree turn and come straight back and ur telling me the tracking aint good enogh.
As i see it forge guns are abusive to dropships as there a big ass gun ment to take on tanks shooting at a fly with pinpoint percision. Now should they be able to hit us yes but at full strength no im thinking for the forge gun we use somethng similer to eves falloff system. This will eather make it so when a forger is shooting beyond a given distance appropriate for there strength of gun the bullit begins to fall off its path in a random direction makeing them somewhat like a musket in terms of bullet dynamics. Or we could have the dmg decrease as the bullit travels further again hampering a forgers ability to place sniper shots from sniping distances that kill anyone in one shot. This could be explained as the los of plasma and energy over long ranges |

Right, because the forge gun needs to be nerfed to the point of being unusable. Also, vehicles need to be able to last an entire round unopposed.
Reasoning like this makes me happy I am training forge guns. I love knocking dropships out of the sky, one shoting LAVS and ripping tanks apart who are single handedly holding my team at bay. Right now, forge guns are a good counter to vehicle pilots, who otherwise decimate enemy infantry. |

I wonder if any of the people who say dropships should be nerfed (and swarms buffed because of dropships) ever tried to fly. I run AV and I manage to solo a dropship. Unless the pilot stays in red zone for prolonged time he will die sooner or later, just use his damn blind zone. There is still no chance to solo a tank in this game, even now, swarms are laughable against them. But no, let's nerf the flying casket, because it can run.
Why do I call it that? Because I've killed few of them and recently I'm trying to master one. Sure, I can outrun swarms... unless you shoot me in the back during my sweep (not fly-through!), which is a 50/50 chance of flipping me or pushing me on nearby structures or slamming me in the ground. I shout for my people to jump ****, but we mostly get crushed anyway (low altitude jumps, lol). It's only militia, so it's like 200k a pop, no biggie. Oh, yeah, I can only get negative KDR while I pilot this thing, because for some reason tank pilot controls the main cannon and DS pilot can only be responsible for his/hers bladder. Best case scenario I go 0/0. A win button indeed. Oh, did you mean that it's a win button for my gunners? Sheeeeit, son, let's punish me then, good idea.
Also guys spamming with OB fired 3 successive strikes yesterday just to take me down and the third one worked -- I did not see that coming.
I just wonder why isn't everybody speccing into DS now, like it was in the tank world build. When tanks were a win button everybody specced into them. Is it because DS pilots can not pew pew? Or because single swarmer/forger/railgun operator can kill your vehicle before you notice where is fire coming from?
How about you either learn to run AV properly or hide from the vehicles, instead of breaking the game in another way? |

The only time I've seen a dropship this build, it died within minutes, and hid most of the time. I've never taken any damage from a dropship weapon, and am actually happy people are reporting them out there. Personally, I don't have that kind of money to throw away 1/2 a million isk or so for a couple minute joyride when I'm getting ~100k / match.
My swarm launcher is gathering dust.. bring back the vehicles. |

Answer - he wasn't.
And if Dropships act like Mobile MCU's in vehicles, he wasn't getting any SP for being a mobile spawn location either.
He got hella nerfed though. |

Quick note on Drop Ship WP system.
There isn't one. Driver gets 35 points for vehichle assist. And it never changes. With out without squad orders. To protect ship, pilot, gunner, nothin. |

Anti-Armor (starter) is vastly over powered.. Why grind to finally get a drop ship, ungodly skills needed, then ungodly ISK paid..The bare minimum Dropship with no armor shield or gun upgrades is 220k... Now go through several of these just learning to fly the thing.
Along comes some guy with no eye-hand coordination yet he has a anti armor gun which basically a monkey could lock it on ..release fire..and the damn thing is guided in with no skill to blow all the hard work out of the air..
Yes.. anti -Armor...IS VASTLY overpowered. |
