You start out with 500,000 SP, ---- each week (Tuesday to Tuesday) your character can earn up to 1,000,000 SP at the normal rate (typically 20,000 to 30,000 per match).
If the "pro's" or individuals with a lot of free time who achieve this million quickly, they can continue to play and stock pile ISK or they can play with their alternate character (we get 3 character slots).
This way no one will complain about only earning <1,000 SP for 3/4 days and the people who can play a very frequently still wont get too far out in front...
Anyone else agree? That's pretty much what happens today, with the addition of reduced payouts the closer you get to the cap. The genius of the reduction is that it lets the dedicated grinders stay ahead of the rest by a little, yet more time constrained players can earn the majority of the cap with the time they have available. It also delays the inevitable zero reward to the grinders. Remove the reduction formula and they will jut complain earlier. I actually don't think the complaining will start sooner, complaining starts from about 800,000 SP till 1,500,000 SP because you are getting smaller amounts of SP from then on. Most people are complaining about getting very small amounts of SP <5,000. Let them gain full SP till 1.5 then cut it off to zero for the rest of the week.
That would be great. Right now I know I will never hit the cap, seems like an endless grind. You're right the complaining starts at 800k, I feel like I get punished for playing longer, so I don't want to play any longer. If I could hit the cap and still have spare time, I would spend it on another character,or play for more ISK, or try some different dropsuits. Since I can't reach the cap, I will always feel I'm falling more and more behind in power every week compared to 24/7 players. All those people who do nothing but eat, play and sleep could still play on another account if the really feel the need to play. Besides that people who play more will always have the advantage of having a lot more practice, and as it is right now an SP advantage every week...
