ZionTCD just throw up a Corp battle contract to help train some of our guys and BetaMax was more then happy to pick it up. The game went great and BetaMax won, but all and all it was a great game and look forward to the Official Challenge match.

Note to CCP: I disagree with being put in a map with 5 objective and having team set only to 8v8. Its doable but the Biomass map with A-E gives a lot of people Hard Lag.

Really 5 letter maps with 8's? you do more running around then actually playing. Well its better then nothing.

Good match but HORRIBLE lag. Same 5pt map from last build that people have been complaining about, always gives lag and hard freezes. And yes 8v8 on any 5pt map is... not fun. |

Solid teams. My money would have been on Betamax with those squads. I hear Betamaxs MCC was half armour, so well played. Given the KDR difference, it sounds like you played hard. |

3objective maps would be best for 12v12 and maybe 8v8. |

the one map with abcd whould be good i think its plateau or the sniper heaven map the one with all the spikey rocks i don't know the name of the map. also it should be 16 on 16 at least i think so |

Three 4 man squads, three points, not hard
so for 12v12 3 points
For 8v8, 2 points
Just make an ambush sized map with only the MCC, or a different goal other than kill |

Like Mercs mates : 8vs8 --> 3pts, 12vs12 --> 4 pts, 16vs16 --> 5 pts.
But to be honest, with thoose maps, to be a MMO/FPS, it might be : 16vs16 --> 3 pts, 24vs24 --> 4 pts, 32vs32 --> 5 pts |

8v8 i would say 3 point maps. 5 is defo way to big, 12v12 would work with 5 due to have 4 squads being able to defend and push points.
however the lag on the 5 point maps needs to be fixed, my fps dropped like a rock and found a lot of my shots were not regging even at point blank on C(biomass), which is not good when its a heavy your shooting :P. i also know another squad member sat out the match and just did OSs as he was like me and could barely move.
other feed back, once the contract is posted can we hit the lobby rather than waiting till set time and then waiting another 10 minutes. i think it would be better if lobby opened 10 minutes before the start time shown and then jump in once it hits the agreed time. as if we doing a corp battle the people involved already know what time they need to be their.
(this reflects my personal views and not! betamax corp) |

Bravo to BetaMax and congrats on your temporary victory. I am so proud of our leader Zion Shad for charging in with the crew he was given and getting our feet wet, testing the waters so to speak.

Congrats to both sides of the inaugural Betamax v Zion TCD battle! I've no doubt there will be rematches in the future and i look forward to being a part of the Betamax *cough Winning cough cough* side. :)
As for maps, pull the 5 point until its stable. 8 v 8 = 3 points and 12 v 12 = 4 points. That way, at all times there COULD be a point open for capture.
(In all seriousness: respect to the Zion crew, facing any of you on the battlefield is always fun and a gg) |

Dude Zan and Rev, I didnGÇÖt want to bring up the lag because I didnGÇÖt want to sound like we were making excuses for the loss (so easy to blame lag) But it was terrible. Both sides suffered. Truly wasnGÇÖt the finest of match up.

The lag really is horrible on the 5 point maps, played the first couple with them and there were points i would be running and end up face first in a wall. |

8v8 to 12v12 around 3 objectives or a pure death match game setting. 12v12 to 16v16 would work 4. 24v24 or higher for 5 objectives. This way you have enough squads to control over 50% of objectives, but even at this itGÇÖs still a little low. |

Not sure the ideal size, but after doing a couple of corp matches, 5 objectives is too many for 8 v 8. That is all I can confirm as that is what we played on. Too big, too little contact. |

The only way I could move reliably was to hang around the outside objectives. Also, I wish I could have been in that fight with you all, but I'm hardly one of our better players. |

Agreed...The 5 objective Biomass is fun and I enjoy it with full teams (16v16) and no lag. |

i find the map with the first 2 destroyable objectives more appropriate for corp battles wirh one defending and one attacking with the mcc docking the commandpost. would be cool to see that map come back or something like that. |

Probably best you talk to Zion Shad as he was the highest ranking member involved directly with the battle. He's not hard to find usually. |

I tend to agree with what people said regarding map size and player cap.
I will also mention that us, being in EUROPE, only had VERY LAGGY corp matches until now. With a framerate way below normal, people vanishing under the map and sounds being delayed from the action. Like, kill a guy then 5 sec later. hear "STOMP" and see +50 WP

Lag has been a problem for a while. You would be surprised at how badly you can miss even using a shotgun when lag hits, (and always at the worst time for an epic fail lol).
Network was the thing I marked as needing the most improvement on the survey's they sent out. One thing you will notice with any successful shooter is they have smooth gameplay. They really need to iron out some of the network or NLB issues they are going through, (fingers crossed for next build).
As for sizes, I pretty much agree with previous posts on this so nothing to add really.
Also, it seems to me that lag hits during times of quick movements or lots of action, so I am not sure if this is a framerate issue or a lag issue, as I have a very fast connection and don't suffer lag on other shooters ect. If this is a framerate issue it would probably make a bit more sense, but their doesn't seem to be enough going on to justify a framerate issue unless the coding needs work. |
