I quit reading after "so noobs don't cry" (first sentence by the way). The SP cap isn't for noobs, it's for EVE players. If you could earn millions of SP in a week playing Dust, all non-combat (possibly excluding resource gathering) professions in EVE would be moved to Dust. Why you may ask? Because if I could skill up Manufacturing Level 5, Planetary Infrastructure Level 5, and Inventing Level 5 in a week playing Dust, I don't think I'd ever consider spending 3-5 weeks doing it in EVE.
Silly Jaysin, thinking the cap is for noobs.
Edit: I skimmed it after I posted this and saw... Quote:(maybe with a 100,000 or 150,000 cap per day) .... which I don't really understand the point of. Right now, the cap is around 700k I believe, and assuming that is the case, all you did is propose that they distribute that cap among 7 days, which in the end would only **** you off more. But I'm sure you don't know why that is, because you didn't think about it.
Lets go ahead and assume that there is a 100k SP cap per day. You play monday, get your 100k SP. Do the same on tuesday and wednesday. Oh no, have to go to the doctors office on thursday, and can't play video games because you've got other responsibilities to attend to? Tough luck, can't get your 100k SP on thursday. Unfortunately on friday you happen to go out with friends, so you couldn't get you 100k SP for that day either. On saturday and sunday you play as normal and hit the cap.
Now, here comes the math! Monday through wednesday you earned 100k. 100k x 3 = 300k. No luck thursday and friday - 300k + 0 = 300k. Saturday and sunday you got your points - 100k x 2 = 200k. 300k + 200k = 500k SP.
So now, instead of being able to earn more SP on your free days, contributing to the cap that you can easily hit in a week, you're restricted to 100k per day, and if you don't get it, tough luck. In the end, your proposal earns you less SP, which means slower progression, which means more Q_Q!
Honestly, I don't understand why people -need- a larger SP number at the end of a match. |

Kevall Longstride wrote:I know that this cap was introduced to combat the SP farmers in the short term and that you've got other ways to urinate on their campfires up and coming for the long term, but it seems to be rather unfair to the vast majority who aren't being an idiot with their time and actually playing the game to give you feedback about improving it, are being penalised.
I do agree a cap is a good idea to prevent a die-hard block being so skilled, very quickly and not making it fun for newbies once the game launches but perhaps a Friday, Saturday and Sunday cap period with a Monday to Thursday period would be a better solution. That way the ones that can only play at week ends will get the maximum SP they can and the die hards are rewarded for playing with the game in quieter periods. I point you to my above post sir, the cap is not for noobies. |
