large, open areas. Almost no cover in those open areas, poor cover in the installations. High, campy mountains where snipers can just hide, and play dust hunt all day long.
There is really no where to really hide/ take cover if you're in the middle of a battle, and not camping somewhere near the red line.
You slowed this game down to full re tard level, but you haven't done the same for the maps, which creates a massive map/player movement problem.
If you're going to make the game play ret arded, you need to make the maps ret arded too. |

It takes a year to get to the objective, just to killed by someone hiding in a corner/sniping on a mountain/hiding behind a rock.
Gameplay that promotes camping on huge maps. WTF were you thinking ccp? |

IMO most of it has to do with how many MERCs are on the map at the time.
The largest maps can certainly handle 64 vs 64 or 32 vs 32 in the very least.
And I personally think that they are designed with a helluva lot more players in mind than we are currently BETA testing them with.

Let's hope you are right.
I want to experience battles like MAG/PS2.
Once you get spoiled by a two hour siege in PS2 at "The Crown" between three factions and hundreds of players, with armor, infantry and air support, well, its kind of demeans anything less than 32vs32.....

I think people are being very optimistic with regard to the amount of players this engine can handle. Traditionally, UE3 has always struggled on PS3. At the moment, Dust is having problems running with 12v12 smoothly...It's hard to picture it running with larger scale battles right now. |

Stop using the word r-e-t-a-r-d OP, it makes you look like an idiot. Other than that I agree, maps are generally too open, it used to be a problem last build as well. Big part of that problem is the lack of any form of vegetation (like trees or bushes) that breaks the line of sight. We don't need concrete walls or containers everywhere, just more soft cover that protects us from the enemies eyes, but without protecting us from the enemies bullets once they have spotted us.
As far as distance goes, that's why there a vehicles in this game. The new skirmish map is a good start imo, I've only played one match on it, but I liked it much better than biomass or communication for the most part. |

I'm not sure if I posted in one of your threads before, I think I did as you tend to like the use of the reta*rded word........ not sure what that says about you.
When these installations are built on planets I doubt very much that the spaceman doing PI had an impregnable fortress in mind. I'm guessing they were built to optimise production, which sadly, and quite often I'd image, rarely go hand in hand with military assaults.
+ How do you know that there will not be some tree's or dead cows to hide behind on future releases?

Is that indirect love for Logibro's......... you know the ones that drop uplinks........ come to think of it, anyone can drop and uplink.
Also, he is a lesson to learn, just for you, if you tend to get shot when you arrive at your destination, how about you take a droplink with you and, well, you know, 'drop it'.
Look, I know this game can be complicated, so I'm happy to take time out of my day to assist.
So:
Start point = A, Destination = C
So, assuming you are following (and can read), Drop point = B. Now B, tends to be somewhere between A and C in the alphabet.
Hopefully that helps somewhat.

I'm not completely against it but I would say a lot of the issue is to do now with the cranked up aim-distance guns got compared to previous build. I could swear it was less than it is now. But even if you got cover it won't help. You can get shot a couple times, press triangle to duck and your health is still going down - even though the enemy can't hit you. |

I think it makes perfect sense that you are building up military defences around a valuable place that you expect to be contested over in the future.

After reading that I was picturing immortal soldiers on a Lava planet, wielding laser rifles and calling for support from orbiting dreadnoughts, while they... hide behind a dead cow But seriously, i really hope CCP will come up with vegetation in the future, seeing as they iterate over their maps with every new build and keep improving them. I'm curious about what they'll come up with on planets that are unable to sustain any form of plant live. |

The thing with this game is that you should never be spawn camped or have to run 600m to the closest objective. You can get redlined....sure but you shouldn't be spawn camped to the point where you can't get out.
The beauty of their system is that....you can call a vehicle or dropship from anywhere on this map. If you don't want to run for 5 mns then wait 15 secs for a vehicle.
I do wish that the movements were a little faster and allowed for more players. If they give us 24v24 as promised then that will suffice for now. |

LOSERS in corp battles don't win ANYTHING.
Anyone that can't see the awesomeness of how these maps will play out with skilled commanders at the lead, can stick to small ambush maps with the pubbies.
- Droplinks - Dropships - tanks - objectives - microphones
USE THEM!
Snipers can cover an objective, but they can't take it.
You need ROLES VARIETY in your playerbase.
- Tanks clear the field, cover an objective - LAV's get you quickly around the map - Dropships cover objectives/spawn in behind enemy lines - Snipers **** everyone off, covering/counter sniping - Assault/heavies get the REAL job done IN the objective - Logibro's keep assaults/heavies alive at an objective so you can take/defend the real purpose of the battles
Once an objective is taken, snipers can't do **** other than KDR pad. Tanks can only cover reinforcements and get you near an objective. The only objective is winning. If you can't rely on your team to help you, then your on the wrong team.

I've noticed that teams who call in a LAV or dropship to get them to the objectives quicker tend to win more often. If you hate running all the way you might want to try using a vehicle.
Militia LAVs stand up much better to low level swarms now, I promise. I stuck a militia plate and a militia damage control on the freebie baloch and it survives two full swarm hits easily. Tons of time to bail out if it really comes to that. They also fixed turrets so that when the vehicle turns your aim doesn't get quite so messed up...I've actually killed people riding in a blaster turret on a baloch...while the thing was moving. |

People who complain about wanting more cover because they are getting hit by snipers are probably the same ones who run everywhere in a predictable straight line. Sniping in this game isn't easy and it usually takes more than one shot to kill you. If you move in a random pattern while changing speeds you most likely won't get sniped unless they got off a lucky shot.
Also it isn't easy for a sniper to hide in mountains in this game, cause not only are we staring at the battlefield we are also scoping out all the other high points around us to take out enemy snipers. Its an interesting chess match in our world.
However I'm all for adding vegetation being added if that means my mountainous terrain is going to have bushes added to them :). I do feel a bit exposed without them. |
