ok, here are my initial impressions after "playing" for the last 6hours. These are my personal opinions based on what i have seen.
The Good: -hit detection seems to be a bit better -scouts suits no longer god-like -Skills seem bit more manageable (semi, will discuss later) -Nice addition to Shield Suits for Adv & Proto -Loading screens are nice -Tips given when going into/after game is a nice touch
The Bad: -Inability to spawn on capping skirm Points. This leads to point camping, thus makes people stay out of the fight, and potential loss of SP & ISK -ISK & SP not rewarded on server crashes/freezes/disconnects -SP rewards ... seems even w/ lower skills requirements, the rewards to be a bit to low -ISK rewards, same, for great games barely braking 100-120k , maybe will change when people have better stuff; but at moment money is pretty crappy; as if want decent gear to use, or even if using militia and resupply; the cost of Skills Books, for core items takes b/t 4-8 games to get -Salvage, all but useless, in all games ive played, have yet to receive, and only 1 person played w/ has received something. Salvage was good as is, as the basic items were actually useful -LAG LAG LAG LAG LAG ... is by far WORSE now then it was -Strafing ; now im not a big fan of super high strafing (like post E3 and E3), but i felt pre-Codex was nicely done ; as now it has become a 1st shooting gets the kill -Weapons Wheel ... can no longer do a quick swap from AR -> nanohive ; need to fully hold down R2 fora good 1-2seconds -mass drivers : blast radius is to much, go back to how it was. It took a skill player to use them, as it was a difficult weapon to use, but once mastered it was deadly. Now they have become the equal to a MW2 noob-tube -Still havent returned the HP bonus to Adv & Proto suits : for the amount of SP & ISK required, should have some basic boost. Yes realize there are modules, but even last build, I (sometimes) was killing guys in proto suits w/ a basic assault rifle; as were other i know. Should look into a HP bonus like had in E3 build (maybe not as much, but something for it)
The UGLY:
****** ORBITAL STRIKES ; CCP you really sh#t the bed on this. They are WAY to easy to get, and to easy to get kills with. The 5 sec delay was good enough, as allowed those who were conscious of it to get away, as now it is a BIG I WIN BUTTON. I have yet to see anyone get less then 3 kills per strike. It also is a waist, when each game ive played there have been 8-10 OBs called in per game. Pre-codex you actually had to work for an OB, now you give it out like candy
****** Textures & Graphics : also, this is worse then pre-E3 build. Not sure why the change, but the game looked graet last build, now it seems to look like utter trash. Yes the Skirm points (A,B,C, etc), are cool looking ; but the overall textures of building and character look god awful |

On mass drivers, compared to the assault rifle they have very low damage per magazine, and small magazine size. That considered, I think the radius buff is fair. |

You realize the mass driver is a glorified m32 grenade launcher right? It's not meant to be a direct hit weapon, it's meant to be an area denial weapon. Before it was about useless for both.
And I don't know what you're talking about with the graphics. All they did was raise the resolution on them. My biggest issue seem to be a memory leak, it shouldn't be difficult to optimize the game to the ps3, but some how after about 3 matches the game starts to choke so much I can't play. |

The lack of SP/ISK when disconnected despite that being touted in the patch notes is REALLY annoying me. Especially since I almost always disconnect on the fun Skirmish maps but am forced to endure Ambush.
ISK rewards are about the same. I notice around 100-120k when losing, 150-200k when winning. Not enough to make a big difference, and the costs are all the same. No biggy here.
Salvage was silly before, and it's just a bonus now. Not something to really worry about. I still liked getting an Advanced Tank last build as part of my salvage. I guess it was just... lying around the battlefield somewhere.
The weapons wheel not selecting nanohives/spawndroppers/revives is REALLY annoying.
KBM still has to hold down Caps Lock and select with a button to use a Shield/Armor repper. This is preposterous, and it's going to be WORSE once we get Afterburners and the like and have to manhandle our controls in a weird way to select stuff.
I LOVE the new mouse sensitivity. It's almost up to PC levels. Suck it, controller fools.
Strafing I'm cool with. People don't circle strafe in reality. Forces people to use cover and think a bit more.
I am in ABSOLUTE AGREEMENT with the initial poster about Orbital Strikes. PLEASE fix this, CCP! It's so easy for a team to just chain-fire these orbital strikes and they tend to be ridiculously lethal. If you're caught in one in anything but a Heavy, you only find out when you spontaneously die with no warning. They need to be harder to acquire, and there needs to be some sort of warning. Geeky reference, I'm sure, but it should be something similar toward the ending of Akira where they started firing the Sol cannon... have a bright light illuminate the area a second or two before the blasts start hitting. Or, if nothing else, pull a Command and Conquer and have a warning sound "Orbital strike detected in your area!", etc. |

yes, i know what it is; but in seeing its abilities last build, the only complaint i really heard from them was lack of ammo; as like i said, that gun takes SKILL to use, and once you knew how to use it, it was deadly; now everyone is using it b/c it is much easier to get a splash damage hit with it |

Mostly agreed with OP, way less isk hard to get expansive skillbook especially if u get striked by eve players without any chance to outrun it, textures yea, this orange ground and overall looking is cheap, maybe they just wanna lower test servier load. Though i respect skilled snipers but the targets r currently to easy to allocate. |

agree about Weapons Wheel return sensetivity from 2nd build still no option invite player to squad without add to contact\watch list from channel no option make few squads for one team from friend list 4 ppl for squad not so good, i think was better when 6 ppl in squad add more targets for choosing by squad leader like - primary, secondary, third make sniper rifles like in 1-2nd builds after shot you cant deal damag in that same point in moment ( i like use it but think now they too busted) add option for creating corp using aur (now i need time to wait when be enough isk on my wallet) or make some exchange aur\isk add ppl from dust to psn friends add option in configuration to language choose (i think now game have bug when you create squad and ppl have different language eng\rus instant battle not start but need to test) too long open friend list when invite to squad
found few bugs If to twist a starmap on a background it is possible to see a seam in market when buy militia default is 4 units price 30 aur, but buying one. if change to 1 unit price 120 aur:) |

The lag issues are more of a case by case basis. The lag has gotten much better for me with the addition of this build. I am in the US and use a hard line. I dont know if that has any effect on lag.

Over all I'm pretty happy with this build, haven't been kicked from a single game, have not seen one invalid load-out problem and some of the new map's are really cool.
But the reduced flight ceiling for drop ships is ridiculous, it may have been a little high before but this is crippling, Handling on dropships feel tighter which I approve of though.

The Bad so far for me is - 1. weapon/equipment swapping wheel is too slow. 2. no rewards for being dumpped from play, even though we were promised this was part of the new build. 3. Missing blueprints for Heavy Skinweave suits. 4. Swarm launchers don't dumbfire at all. in all the games i have played in since the new build not once have i been able to get a launcher to dumbfire. |

I love the different maps. Ladders are an excellent new feature and allows for some verticality in decision making on paths through maps. This will allow for pesky snipers to get in good places to shoot from but have a risk / reward in their vulnerability climbing up the ladders.
Having some of the maps start with the control points already in one teams hands is a nice feature.
The new visuals look good to me and i like the female character models.
I LOVE the MCC spawn point and the jump down to the battlefield below.
