Grezkev. i'd answer any question with pleasure. But are you in any way linked to @NewEdenGNN ? Cause they tweeted me and i gave them my email for better communication.
Interviews in a forum arent very practical ^^
PS: list updated guys. Keep them coming i can't possibly remember everyone |

No we are not that "GNN" (That is the DUSTERS Blog, they don't formally call themselves GNN), they ripped off our concept long long ago in MAG. You may remember me posting on the MAG forums about various GNN things. Now that the MAG forums are deleted, these "dusters" guys basically claimed it was all their idea from the start. They probably tweeted you because we wrote an article on you this morning and they are playing "catchup".
But back to your question--
Yea the forum is a bad place for an interview but I wanted to convey our interest in sharing your story. How about you contact GNN's Olivia Darby at: [email protected]
We are definitely interested in getting your full story out there, as well as giving you access on GNN's site for recruitment (we have a section call the Classifieds where you can post a recruitment thread regarding your requirements and expectations) |

The French have centuries of successful military tradition under their belts. Why do you think they've managed to hold on to such a large area of land for so many years despite all these unfriendly neighbours? Yeah, great, so they were in a bad state in '39 - '40 and the Blitzkrieg rolled over them. What about Napoleon? What about Charlemagne? The Hundred Years' War? Ypres? Verdun? The rest of WW1? People making jokes about France from a military standpoint are just making a show of their vast ignorance of French history. |

As a historian I completely agree with you. But I will also point out that most people don't consider history beyond 100 years. How many times have you heard someone say "This is just how it works!" in relation to something that was started or created within the last 100 years. Think Jim Crow laws; in the 1950s they justified it by saying "That's just how it works!"; neglecting the fact that Jim Crow was a law signed into law about 80 years prior. |

Well, I don't think people who talk about France and its military prowess in a disparaging way are thinking about it in anything but crude, nationalistic terms. Currently, France is one of the Great Powers of the world. It's a nuclear state with a decently sized, well-equipped military that has participated in a bunch of fairly recent ops, including participating in ISAF. So if they're going with very recent, the French Armed Forces are respectable. If they're going ancient, the French during WW1 are impressive. And anyone who knows anything about France leading up to WW2 and during WW2 would hardly see their loss to the Third Reich as some kind of character-defining event. |
