I like to thank CCP for giving us these seemingly overpowered 'officer' weapons. Of course, since they are only obtainable via salvage and the salvage is chance based with very little likelihood of finding the same officer weapon again for a very long time even after multiple matches in a single hour, I have to say that this is well balanced as well.
Today I played at least 6 matches with 4 matches being accompanied by my specialist sniper rifle (officer), I was able to go 8/0 no problem on several occasions even during an ambush map with only a basic damage mod. Surprisingly I didn't die as often as I expected from the ambush maps. I guess it has more to do with the fact that I know which areas to avoid when trying to get out of the compound and into the safety of the hills.
The officer sniper I used inflicts 203 EHP with a rate of fire of 50 shots per minutes. As I said, I only have a basic damage mod but I am getting close to being able to use the enhanced variants.
My brother is an AV player and notices that the officer HMG is so beefy in damage that just tapping the trigger is an near-instant kill button. Of course, he avoids using that fit as well given that he has limited stock and he hasn't been able to find any replacements in the salvage. The best part... they are not AUR weapons. |

@berserker007
Really? Huh. Have you managed to get them yourself? If so, how are they in comparison? |

Pokey Dravon wrote:Officer weapons are stupidly overpowered, but as you said because they're found only in random drops, it's balanced. And yes there is a differentiation between Common, Uncommon, and Rare gear. Basically the stuff you buy in the stores and whatnot is going to be Common gear, the stuff you find randomly is Uncommon...its better in most cases and has similar naming convention to Common gear. Rare gear, or Officer gear uses the naming convention NAME's WEAPON TYPE. It's going to have very high skill requirements (Usually Operation V and then some level of Proficiency) and have stats beyond that of Prototype Gear. Officer gear is basically as good as it gets (Unless they get into Deadspace gear which could potentially be better).
Like I said, freakishly powerful but since you can only get it via rare drops...I think its a good system
I see.
So named only. Got it.
But yeah, I like to see those babies used against the AUR folks. |
