I was mainly wondering if the stress on our PS3-systems will get lower in the final release?
Cause as of now I'm able to play a couple of hours in a row, then the system starts to suffer from severe lag. And when I'm unable to perform well it's no fun to play. Or at least unable to do what I intend to do, since, I'm having a hard time controling my character. Mind you, there are other suits running around without these issues that consider me cannon-fodder in named state.
Whilst it is an effective way to regulate my time in "New Eden", I'm sure it's not intended.
Will I have to get external cooling to be able to last more than two hours of play? Or will time collaborate with CCP to make this happen?

LOL...all joking aside, I feel you. I got bad system lag once and decided to put a small 6$ desk fan behind my ps3 to act as a poor mans cooling unit. I slid a couple pencils under the system on either side to create some room for better circulation and whaa laa, haven't had a heat problem since.
I realize its not the most elegant of fixes, but it is proven successful.

Have you thought about upgrading the PS3s fan and or power supply? Worked for me when I had a heating issue. Also some Antec Formula 7 Nano Diamond thermal compound would help too. |

Man, I remember doing that for the disc drive for my commadore 64. So glad to see technology has come so far. |

Is that really necessary? I can imagine just swapping the Thermal Compound could be useful since I'm sitting on the first version of the PS3. Thanks for the tip!

Pouring water in it, I might avoid that one. But I'm not surprised if you've tried it? |

Well I did all that because my 40 gig FAT, YLOD on me, and I did what was necessary to keep it cooler, (still working a year later). Good luck though, the thermal compound I mentioned should be good enough. |

You seriously need to CLEAN your PS3 or send it in for maintenance ASAP. This is NOT part of the game.
If you are seeing serious performance issues over time, that is NOT the game.
The game doesn't do ANYTHING that ANY other game does, and it cannot utilize ANY more resources than any other game because of how the PS3 works (which I'd be happy to explain).
As a result, if you are seeing excessive heat, likely your PS3 is VERY dusty inside or less likely it is damaged. Have you been doing regular dusting/cleaning of it? I try to keep mine free of debris, and regularly clean dust from it as I have noticed that in many high-requirements games that it will suffer in performance whenever it gets bad.
The game cannot force your PS3 to do anything it doesn't otherwise do, and if your system is unable to keep itself at an acceptable temperature this is a serious concern. The PS3 SHOULD NOT be able to damage itself in normal performance circumstances. |

This. It tried to put my unused lap top cooling fans under it. Sadly there isnt enough room between it and the top of my shelf once stacked.
Sigh... I guess I should have waited for the even slimer trim version :( |

But then again if it's one of the first models disregard sending it to maintenance since they ll send you back one who can't read ps1 and 2 games... |

I find that setting the temperature for your AC 5 to 10 degrees cooler helps loads. Apparently a colder room cools a ps3 more effectively. |
