Just an idea Adding the ability to lean from around walls and such? As in you hold a button and you push left on the stick meaning you lean out to the left kind of tilted.. I'm not very good at explaining it but I hope you get what I'm on about.
The reason is, it'd be nice to utilize a lot of the cover in place a lot more, leaning out from behind a wall or a box or even a mound of dirt could be cool. |

Maybe...but should weapons be allowed? A Heavy leaning with his HMG around a corner would hurt. |

I would think it would need to be done realisitcly so no heavys leaning all over the places however scouts and assaults leaning over barricades and around walls wouldnt be bad I would think light weapons could lean around walls but they could lean over blow lying walls while side arms would be able to lean over or around any wall. |

I'd been thinking about it, I posted this whilst I was heading off to bed.
Since we have different catagories for weapons (Light, Heavy) Perhaps all dropsuits could lean, but only Light weapons could fire from around a corner, this still gives a heavy dropsuit the ability to use this feature but he won't have a HMG raining down on you. |

This i would think side arms could lean around anything, light weapons could lean around most thing and heavys non at all. |

Do you mean "learning" like reading on a wall "Try the Forgegun NOW! The ultimate weapon for tank hunters!" on a wall to give newbie a idea of what they could use or "learnng" like prssing O next to something and getting SP? In the first case yes, it would be cool, in the latter NO WAY ON EARTH. |

I think you've completely lost what I suggested. I suggested LEANING not learning. For example, there was a shooter that I played once, it didn't have a cover system in place (and a cover system wouldn't work in this) but you could 'lean', I'd hold Q and my character would tilt left, so he could see around the corner and fire, If I held E it would lean right.
Now, implementing restrictions should really be for heavy weapons unable to fire when leaning, so no Swarms, forge guns or HMGs for example. ARs, SMGs, Pistols etc which are all light(er) weapons, would be able to fire when leaning around.
Leaning is for Left and Right, I don't think you should be up to "lean upwards", just come out of crouch to fire in that position, but that's it really. |

Restrictions for heavy weapons is a bullsh*t idea considering that the suits are specifically designed to carry them |

The issue is balance lad, Heavy weapons would just dominate. |

This is what happens when we do not support our public school systems. ; ).
Anyways, I agree completely. We need a FIRST PERSON cover system! It would make tactical combat more common. Don't get me wrong - I love running and gunning. But the way this game feels while doing so feels like Doom 3 from 10 years ago. I think both options should be available.
Of course they need to add it though. They need to make it balanced so you can't see unless you're ready to expose yourself and get shot in the process. I hate how most cover systems allow you to see the enemy while they can't see you. Makes "PEEEK A BOO, you're dead!" cover fighting way too powerfull.
I think Crysis 2 had a pretty good cover system as well. Never played that on muliplayer(did it even have one?). Killzone 3 cover system was frustrating though. I remember always getting shot when I was totally behind it. Kind of made it useless.

Crysis 2 system was simple if you were near a edge of an object push aim to lean around it, you count see until you leaned and you were exposed a bit. Hmg could lean because they were heavy weapons.
I do think light weapons should be able lean over or around most object side arms should be able to lean over or around anything, heavy weapons shouldnt be able to lean, just to powerful and from a realistic standpoint it be hard to lean with a huge gun. |
