Having the ability to adjust x/y sensitivity is a start (though it doesn't seem to do much of anything ATM), but one thing that would be extremely nice is deadzone and acceleration settings as well. This way I can customize my aim precisely to how I want it with obsessive-like resolution.
This may be overwhelming to those who don't want to tweak controller settings, so perhaps a few default layouts could be introduced with varying adjustments. But a "advanced" mode would allow complete control for those of us who want to tweak beyond the default configs.
I bring this up because my biggest issue with nearly every FPS game out there is usually the controls (aiming/movement feel), and Dust 514 is certainly no exception. IMO it is among the worst... now I know there is some adjustments coming, but it would be priceless to be able to adjust those settings myself.
Given the depth of this game, it would seem a natural move to add such options. And would likely be the first console game in history to give the player these options. |

I have a post up about the same issue. I feel your pain. I would like to see some inertia so the camera panning doesn't just instantly stop the second you center the joystick and some acceleration so that when you twitch react you dont completely overshoot your target. In additon, something else that I noticed after my simular post yesterday is that often times when hitting aim with a scope equipped, the game drops a few frames effectively making my target jump from one place to another in the crosshairs and causing me to over react and miss my mark. |

Totally agree. I know from other games that my aiming ability is perfectly adequate. Yet for some reason that i can't quite put my finger on, i have trouble in Dust from time to time in certain scenarios. Advanced adjustments to controls would be simply awesome. I really hope we get more flexibility in that department. |

Agree with the op. Disagree with the above post though, we don't need CoDs auto aim where pressing L1 immediately puts you right on target. |

COD aim with the auto-aim/aim-assist omitted of course.
So far, the COD games (at least ones like COD4/MW2) have the best control feel in any game, FPS or otherwise, I have ever played. It's about as flawless as controls can get, which is probably a big reason it has managed to get so popular. The hand-eye cooperation is seamless, it's like I am beaming the controller aim/movement directly into my PS3 from my brain.
Regardless of what people think of the COD series, if Dust had the same aiming/control feel (not talking aim-assist stuff), it would skyrocket in terms of popularity. It could be buggy as heck, but if players could consistently and reliably aim without battling with their controller, people could more easily overlook the other issues of the game. |

i was not talking about autoaim i was talking about how smooth the aiming is in both cod kz3 an bf3 . now as far as autoaim goes you all take that way to far its not auto aim its aim asist meaning it will put you on or near the target you wish to shoot but not do all of the work for you end the end you will still need to aim on you own its just ment to help some. now on that note some games do there aim asist way to high an it ends up being autoaim we nore do i want that in this game just good smooth clean aiming. |

I'm bumping this rather than create my own post.
The OP is dead on.
We need an advanced controller configuration option where we can independantly set the size of the dead zone (down to zero), the base sensitivity, and an accelleration factor (faster the further from center the stick is moved).
A seperate setting for hipfire and ADS would be appreciated.
Aiming is SO important to an FPS and the current configuration is frustrating. I ADS and attempt to shift aim slightly, the stick moves and nothing happens until suddenly the cross hairs whip past my target.
Let everyone tweak the controller to their own liking and you will have a MUCH happier player base. Right now I feel like I'm playing with welding gloves on. |

Auto Aim/ Aim Assist can already be toggled on or off so that is not an issue.
I support fine tuning options, if possible. I would also like to see some explanation of what the adjustments do. Now we can adjust X and Y "sensitivity" but there is nothing explaining what you should expect between having one slider at 10 as opposed to 100.
What does "sensitivity" mean in DUST? It almost feels like the dead zone is always the same, no matter the setting. And sometimes the setting seems to make the reticle fly out of the deadzone faster. But none of that really helps me adjust my aim when firing.
So even if full customization is not implemented, some further tuning should be available to players and an explanation that can help clarify what we will end up adjusting when we change the settings. |

+1 to the OP I would like to tweak the acceleration, so I can have killzone like turning. |

Agreed, in fact it would be required if they gave us detailed aim customization options. Because hip and ADS are two completely different beasts.
So far the hip-firing in the game seems somewhat Ok, seems to have a KZ2 like shooting feel, in which hip-fire is pretty much all you need to use unless somebody is really far away. It's also the same in that ADS for a medium-close range target is next to impossible to hit consistently due to the flaws in the aiming deadzone/acceleration/something else I don't know about.
