Having the ability to adjust x/y sensitivity is a start (though it doesn't seem to do much of anything ATM), but one thing that would be extremely nice is deadzone and acceleration settings as well. This way I can customize my aim precisely to how I want it with obsessive-like resolution.
This may be overwhelming to those who don't want to tweak controller settings, so perhaps a few default layouts could be introduced with varying adjustments. But a "advanced" mode would allow complete control for those of us who want to tweak beyond the default configs.
I bring this up because my biggest issue with nearly every FPS game out there is usually the controls (aiming/movement feel), and Dust 514 is certainly no exception. IMO it is among the worst... now I know there is some adjustments coming, but it would be priceless to be able to adjust those settings myself.
Given the depth of this game, it would seem a natural move to add such options. And would likely be the first console game in history to give the player these options. |

COD aim with the auto-aim/aim-assist omitted of course.
So far, the COD games (at least ones like COD4/MW2) have the best control feel in any game, FPS or otherwise, I have ever played. It's about as flawless as controls can get, which is probably a big reason it has managed to get so popular. The hand-eye cooperation is seamless, it's like I am beaming the controller aim/movement directly into my PS3 from my brain.
Regardless of what people think of the COD series, if Dust had the same aiming/control feel (not talking aim-assist stuff), it would skyrocket in terms of popularity. It could be buggy as heck, but if players could consistently and reliably aim without battling with their controller, people could more easily overlook the other issues of the game. |

A seperate setting for hipfire and ADS would be appreciated.
Agreed, in fact it would be required if they gave us detailed aim customization options. Because hip and ADS are two completely different beasts.
So far the hip-firing in the game seems somewhat Ok, seems to have a KZ2 like shooting feel, in which hip-fire is pretty much all you need to use unless somebody is really far away. It's also the same in that ADS for a medium-close range target is next to impossible to hit consistently due to the flaws in the aiming deadzone/acceleration/something else I don't know about.
