Minor stats improvement overall, for instance some AUR grenades have a 10% better damage and blast radius. Most o the true P2W items items have been removed in a hotfix for now, as they also provided a near 50% reduction in CPU/PG requirements, meaning you could use those to build far stronger fittings, there are still a ferw of those around though.
The odd ones out are the suits, there are NO stats differences between the ISK and AUR variant, not even a reduced skill requirement. The AUR just allows you to get different colours, or in my case, allows you to afford a suit in the first place or saving up for the next tank. |

The whole point is that the AURUM items will be resold for ISK by both EVE and Dust players just like all the AURUM items in EVE currently. The idea is to have MTs that fund the game while simultaneously allowing for the player-controlled market to provide those items for ISK so that people with a bit more ISK can truly play the game completely for free. Besides, I think the last thing anyone wants is all of the ISK Proto gear with AURUM price tags, because the ISK stuff is superior.
My primary beef with having the AUR only aspect, is that these items are not player build or provided as such. At least they do not require any effort beyond access to daddy's VISA.
There are items in EVE that are not made by players, but to get them players have to run missions and earn LP's in order to get these. |
