How deep is it going to be really?
The one thing I really like the idea of in regards to Dust Corps is that your Corp isn't just a "Clan" it's a business, which has been hinted at since I even heard of Dust So making the credits and turning a profit is essentially the bottom line, or what's the point in being a Merc? So how deep is it going to be? Will we have the ability to set up manufactories and Fabrication plants to sell to the market/self supply? Rental rights on planets in EvE Sov? A tax rate on members earnings? Do we know anything about what the theory or plan actually is?
We're getting a good test of the gameplay, but how is this actually going to mesh with EVE? In what areas on the games are the joins actually going to be?

It's not going to be implimented prior to launch in the capacity you're talking about so it's kinda a moot point. You'd be better off asking post release when they are working on new features and not just getting the game out the door. |

Taxes- yes Profits being power- yes Depth- yes Factories n stuff- yes, but you gotta have the land Sellability- yes Rentals- yes if EvE players agree Theories/Plans- check the EvElopedia, cuz that's where its coming from Meshability- Everything Joinability- Everything: the universe, the economy, land, materials, ships, everything is connectable
In conclusion, yes. |

Awesome. Where have you got all of this info from, Eveolopedia?

I'm curious as well. Though going by the fact you'll be able to join EVE corps next build, I'm going to say that the corp tax rate will likely apply to earned isk. What I'm curious about, is how soon they're going to implement EVE players being able to manufacture DUST equipment. A person with an active EVE account, with good production skills, could have a serious upper hand in that aspect of the game. Even if they don't allow isk transfer between games.
I'm assuming corp mates will be involved in planetary bombardment. Some thoughts about that, just think how scary it would be if they allowed bombardment from Torpedo Ravens or Golems. They'd basically be dropping 4-8 missles equivalent to ICBMs on a battlefield. Or better yet, anyone flying maelstrom or tempest full fit with 1400mm arties and nuke ammo. Or not to mention the impact an antimatter slug from a 425mm railgun would make. |

Everything you read is correct and yes they are based on our understanding of the Eve lore and history of the emergent game play that has existed for nine years already.
Eve players are well versed in theory crafting.
Even at launch, if the Dust 514 market allows for even the basic buy/sell orders design that Eve currently has (I buy from you, turn around and sell to someone else for higher price) then I foresee a great deal of patient players making a massive profit soon without so much as firing a bullet and then transferring a share of the profits to the corp war chest.
In Dust, K/D ratios only account for just a smidgeon of 1% of the actual progress of a corporation. Everything we will do in Dust 514 upon release will be motivated by profits and the bottom line. Even now, we mercs are training ourselves to manage profits by learning how NOT to die so that you can mitigate the loss of ISK incurred to you when you lose a dropsuit.
Even playing by yourself fighting in the faction warfare system still involves PVP economics due to the fact that your available gear will be mostly player-made or sold to you by another player.
Yes, even economics in New Eden is PVP because sellers are competing against each other to get you to buy assets from one seller over another. The same is true with the buyers trying to get the best deals first before someone else does. Then you have to watch out for the scammers (window trade scams, margin trade scams, contract scams, the old fashion double-your-money scams, etc.).
Imagine seeing all of this in Dust 514. PVP in a FPS will take on a whole new meaning. Especially when each region will have its own market. |

I'm assuming that Dust players will be as integrated into the market as every Eve player. That is, as little (but not none) or much as they want to be.
It'd be interesting to see Dust players manufacturing ships to sell to Eve players. |

I don't see any reason for Dust players to have anything to do with ship manufacturing, to me, that's just not what it's about. Infantry gear/armor/weapons etc yes, but not ships that a player would never even use. |

I agree.
CCP's idea of Dust 514, as they pointed out in their Fanfest Dust 514 Keynotes, is that both Dust and Eve are meant to be interconnected on almost every level once it is optimized and updated regularly but still be functional and thriving on their own. |

Well, if EvE players can make Dust gear, which they would never use, so what makes Dusters any different. I'd gladly build some ships with the sole intent of selling them. |

There have been hints, ideas and wishes put out by CCP on where things are headed, but the old rule applies. It isn't real until it's deployed. Aside from evelopedia, look on youtube for the latest fanfest keynotes regarding Dust and how it will mesh with Eve. In any case, it will start out slow and gear up to full interaction.
As far as goods and services flowing both ways, I think it is notable that Dust players can join Eve corps. This means there's a corp wallet that can take huge volumes of ISK already in existence and be able to apply that ISK to the Dust side of the game right off the bat. Can you say "reimbursement policy"? Existing Eve corps would then have the ability to financially back Dust corps that have never even played Eve. Not a bad first step. |
