It's not the last one "until release." It's the last one period, unless something goes wrong and it becomes necessary to reset us to fix a problem. There is not one scheduled for "release." |

There IS one scheduled for release bro, the coming reset is the last one of the beta, then a final one for launch. Its been confirmed by the devs many times. Its all on this forum....you just gotta look.
No there is not. I hounded the devs a number of times. There is not one scheduled going beta to not-beta. |

tribal wyvern wrote: Ok, ask iron wolf saber bro, he's the one who's been keeping us in the loop with IRC Q&A's. He will give you the link that confirms it. It makes NO SENSE for there to be NO reset for launch, ccp want everyone to start with a clean slate so that people who weren't in the beta have a chance. there is one more reset for beta and one for launch.
I'm in IRC too, and my info comes from a private chat with one of the devs (I don't want to name who without asking, so he doesn't get flayed by everyone if things change). I hounded him back and forth getting clarification. Word at that time was next reset is the last one scheduled, and there is not one on the table for going beta to not-beta. My assumption is because we're hitting open beta soon, so it doesn't matter anyway since everyone will be able to join at that point, so if you wait it'll be your own fault for being behind. Plus, with the move to TQ, we'll screw things up EVE-side if we start taking away money and items from Dust characters that originated from EVE characters.
Shiro Mokuzan wrote:There is confirmation, I just don't feel it finding it right now. CCP nothin said that there would be a reset when it moves to Tranqulity, presumably this next update, followed by one at launch. It's more recent than the above quote.
These are the most recent quotes by nothin, both of which say what I'm saying:
CCP Nothin wrote:There will be one more reset when we deploy the next release. We are doing some backend changes as well as moving to TQ, so there's unfortunately no way around it. On the bright side, there shouldn't be any more resets afterwards, unless something goes catastrophically wrong :)
CCP Nothin wrote:Just to clarify, "release" in my vocabulary refers to the next patch, not launch. This is to say that the next wipe should be the last one if everything goes according to plans. If I happen to make some horrible economic tuning decisions though, well, then all bets are off.. |

They're from a whopping 12 days ago. Feel free to find one saying what you are, though. |

I will ask him again, because I really don't like that wording (which is Ironwolf's). I'll see if I can get him to make a sticky with the reset schedule, because this keeps coming up all the freaking time. The PM chat I had with the dev might have happened on the 6th as well, I know it was after the 4th since those quotes with the "release" meaning "next build" is what made me ask about it. |

That wording is a DIRECT COPY AND PASTE from IRC, not iron wolfs words at all. Release means next beta, launch means LAUNCH. You've been proven wrong and not man enough to admit you were wrong lol.

I'm not going to admit that I'm wrong until I hear it from a dev, because what I'm saying is what I was told directly by a dev. I know what I asked, and what answers I got at the time. If things changed, fine, but that's what I'm going to ask them about now, because there's practically no time difference between your quote and the extreme precision of clarification I asked for, and they're saying different things. |

Ok, you're either a child or a dumb a$$!! I will say it again, in caps so it sinks in.....THEY HAVE STATED MANY TIMES THAT EVERYONE WILL BE STARTING THE LAUNCH BUILD ON A CLEAN SLATE, THEREFORE THERE IS GOING TO BE A FINAL RESET FOR LAUNCH AS WELL AS THE COMING RESET. IF THIS IS THE FINAL RESET THEN THE PEOPLE WHO ARE IN BETA WILL HAVE ONE OVER THE PEOPLE WHO WERE NEVER IN BETA IN REGARDS TO SP AND ISK TO PROTO SUITS AND UPPER TIER VEHICLES.
I will say it again without insulting people: If we go into open beta following the next build, we won't have a headstart on anybody, because everyone will be able to join at that point. |

*shrug* Then it'd be your fault for being behind I guess, no different than getting into a game months late. It's just justification for no further resets if that's what they're going for. Open beta's kinda like launch anyway for a free game, especially for something like Dust where it's never really going to be in a final version, and constantly be changing and building on itself. |

thanks. Please help clear up the confusion while you are here...
I brought it up to Nothin earlier this evening. He said he's going to have CmdrWang make a sticky in the near future. |
