you're right, it should be one grenade. right into the tank hold and everyone inside gets turned to goo because someone climbed aboard. and then the person gets to hack the tank because there is no one inside it.
I like this in theory, but I always wondered....how the hell are these guys opening up the hatch in the first place? |

can i just say...whining about something generally means devs will test for data on closed dev servers. People complaining as they did about tanks, showed community concern about tanks, the dev response would have been based on data collection, and private trials.
Their response may or may not be over compensating, certainly it will get repealed to some extent is my feeling on the matter. There is still no hard numbers (for the player base) on shield and armor base resistances.
To all the tank drivers having a cry, suck it up princess, you had your day, you stuffed your tanks down everyones throat and this is the outcome. You told us silly things like, "mine costs more you should be dying just looking at me." or, "it's supposed to take 6 people to take a tank down."
CCP obviously thinks otherwise.
Seriously, do people not think about consequences?
Or were you just only too happy to exploit the loophole?
You were given a chance to explore this option, and you abused it, now mummy and daddy are taking your toys away.
tl:dr? its still a beta, adjust to how it plays now, everything is still getting balanced. |

more people play infantry then play tanks....this at least shows the devs are aware of the problem, and that they disapprove of how people were abusing tanks.
I'm happy that tanks now have to wait for the upcoming items to feel balanced, as this was the position that infantry (the majority of the player base) was in prior to the current vehicle resist nerfs.
So happy to see the griefers feeling griefed. |

i was unaware of this hot fix and i had the best tanking game yet the day after. it might be because i roll armored tanks and a blaster which seems took less of CCP's wrath. |

This is funny because you haven't already said it on every other tank whiner thread... oh wait... nevermind.
The nerf was needed, I'll give you that, though I would have done AV weapon specific modifiers vice the across the board increase.
But what would I know, I'm just a lousy tanker with no gun game who can't get kills on foot, except for that fact that my on foot KDR was actually better than my tank one. |

Did anyone crying about tanks being OP actually get into one? Seriously? Tanks went from glass cannons that everyone had an amazing AV counter ready to pound them into the ground in the last build. To well tanked, (yes, the issue with the sagaris needed correction) mobile weapons platforms that the time, SP and isk invested was reflected in thier ability. The massive issue I noticed was the ingame balancer setting too many HAV drivers on one team. Putting 5 Sagaris on one team and nothing but guys in militia suits on the other was just a touch irritating. Just saying, perhaps the issue was more in the pregame balancer's inability to distribute players based on thier tanks ability to destroy.
Some other answers could lie in the patheticly low HP and damage of turret hardpoints, Low SP requirements on some tanks, yea I admit that marauders should have a higher requirement, make them appear on the battle field too early, or snipe points easily accessable to large tracked vehicles ie: terrain alterations.
As to the devs, every game I've ever played the devs get stomped every time. Thinking that they have some private dev server that only puts out "pure" data is worse than believing you actually inherited 5 mil from that Zimbabwan prince. The best player data you're going to get is from players. Don't like it, hop in a tank and do some damage of your own. |

As I've said many times in many places, here's what you do:
Un-nerf the tanks, increase the ammo and capacity for swarmers, add the ability for infantry to damage tanks by climbing on top and dropping in grenades or hacking it, make swarm missiles in a way that they can be shot down by tank turrets and light weapons fire, cut the range of tank fire (make it auto explode at a certain range), and make damage zones on vehicles.
Tread/tires/thrusters/turrets=lowHP Main cannon=medHP Hull=highHP
This way an HV/LV/Dropship without treads/thrusters/tires can be an emplaced weapon, one without guns can be an armored unarmed transport, and a hull with hp left can be used as a temporary bunker to recover health.
That solves everyone's gripes and everyone's happy. |

Tanks were way OP, and AV was extremely weak. I hope to actually blow up a tank next match i play. Last time, a proto forge gun, swarm launcher and AV grenades did BARELY any damage to the shields, i quit playing as a result. i am interested now in blowing up these Tankers, especially since they are all so P O'd. Tanks are Tanks, not invincible death machines. If you get blown up go cry about it. |

(Are the AV grenades weaker or is that just me?)
They reduced the tank to less than support
A basic AV build can solo a tank easily
It has no resists anymore, i dont think you can get above 50%, the turret turn rate is way too slow its easier to turn the tank

You are all screaming a bunch of BS about hit points and swarm launchers and updated builds: no one cares! i don't care about the details, they are ruining this game.
For the last month I have been avoiding ambush maps because all that eveer happened was that I spawned on the side with NO tanks, and the other side had 3. Always. Every damn time! It got so bad I just left any battle on an ambush map. The one day I tried it just to be fair and give CCP another chance. Wonder of wonders, my team had 3 tanks this time! But the other guys had none....and it was just as boring as before. Oh I made 35k in SP riding around in a tank. Compared to my typical 7k for run and gun. But if anything I felt bad for the other team who spent the match trying to find a place to spawn that didn't have a tank sitting on it.
Seriously, how can anyone think its fun to use one of those on an infantry map? I have been on both sides, and I am not whining when I say u are a bunch of pussies. And I don ' t mean kittens.
Let me buy a placeable turret and a few of us turret gunners might have a surprise for ya. You run pretty quick when I power up a railgun. |
