That right there is what I think this is really about... Most players inability to pull that off. Tanks were the Super Heavy Suit that you had to spec into if you wanted to pull down those massive kills if you suck. Now teamwork can really shine and that puts a wet blanket over a lot of people's parties.
CCP isn't done tweaking this, obviously, but in the mean time we will hear QQing forever because some gamers just can't admit that they just aren't that good, they lack the inability to not go full R-Tard when something makes them upset, and they can't look at the problem objectively and say to themselves, "How can we make this better?"
We share a world with all kinds of people and as we all know, babies cry the loudest. |

No, I was specifically referring to you. |

Anyway, what the devs are doing is see-saw balance. What they do is they balance too far in one direction to make the stats clearer in a shorter period of time - then they what's dieing too fast and what's living too long and dial in the balance. I've never personally been happy with the results of this "technique", but it's what you do when you're strapped for time and someone wants numbers to whack off to.
I feel they need to think in a less linear fashion and focus more on the FPS core that is infantry then bring vehicles in as a way to enhance that interaction. Branch out from there instead of trying to force a balance between what is essentially two completely different games. LAV's and Dropships seem to fit fine, mostly due to the fact that they enhance the FPS by supplying an alternative means of transport in these massive maps. Tanks however do nothing to enhance the core FPS, they're either some game rule defying behemoth or a bonus target to justify the SP sunk into AV.
At the FPS level, I would like to see them as a sort of prestige item that helps a team farm WP while providing mobile fire support/area denial, the tip of the spear in a siege on an area well protected by installations, and be the, well... be the Tank in the TPS vehicular scheme.
How dare you come into this thread with sound logic and reasoning. Who the kitten do you think you are? These threads are about harvesting tears and shouting hyperbole. GTFO |
