Every time I try to join a game I get this message even while I'm NOT in a squad:
"You can't join the battle because you are not squad leader. You must leave your squad to join a new battle."
It's likely that this occurs when restarting the ps3 while still in a squad. When my game froze I was currently in a squad but not the leader, I then turned off the ps3 and when I got back I was unable to search matches on Dust. This may not be limited to game freezes as some people restart the ps3 due to invalid fittings.
I tried creating a squad but nothing happened, rebooting does not help either. |

Same problem here. Was in a battle and me and my squad leader got invalid fitting, now neither of us can get in a game at all, and there appears to be no way to solve this issue. |

Yep, I'm getting what the OP has. Was in a squad, deployed, my battle initializing just hung while everyone else got into battle. Only thing I could do was quit game, came back to this problem. |

I froze out of the 5 letter map. I wasn't squad leader when I froze out. I can't recieve squad invites or create a squad. |

They should at least reset the server and disable squads until this issue is resolved.
I'm also hoping that the DEV's silence about this issue means that they are working hard to correct it. |

Yup this bug sucks for sure.
Ive reset the game 3 times now. On the last try i switched characters and tried to form a squad ~ realizing that i could, I reset the game once more and switched back to the character that had the bug in the first place and I still cant:
-Form a squad
-Get invited to a squad
-Join a game
I know that last time I logged off before I got this bug I was in a party and had quit the game without leaving the party. The person that was the leader of the party has logged out of dust but is still online in the PS network. I will continue to reset I guess.. wish me luck!  |

Update:
I have reset 6 times in a row, logged in an out of PSN and am now trying a complete system shutdown for the second time in a row. I cry when my merc cant shoot things  |

With me as squad lead my squad mate and I (Kalzed) had been playing for several hours. Upon deciding to break for a few he quit the game through the ps button 'quit game' option, and I did not (left it running). After 45 minutes or so he contacted me after logging back in and told me he had this same bug being described by the original poster. I picked up my controller opened my menu(game was still running with my character logged in) and I quit the squad and told him to try and join a match.
After me leaving the squad(I was team leader) he was able to then join a match like normal and was no longer prompted that he was not the squad leader and could now join the query.
My suggestion would be for people to try and get in contact with whom ever their squad leader was and try and see if they can either leave the squad they were both a part of, or if that has happened/they have logged out and the problem still exists, try possibly having them start a new squad and then leave it to possibly reset their squad.
TIPS TO POTENTIALLY AVOID:
- Remember the name of your squad leader, and try and be able to contact them afterwards
- Squad leaders make sure to disband before quitting game
- Squad members make sure to disband before quitting game

I didn't freeze mid-match nor did I squad up today, but I did get the invalid fitting bug. I'm also consistently in created channels and those are usually mic'ed up with a few in a squad themselves. |

Yes this seems to be the most prevelant bug. The bad part of this bug is, if you get it, your done until the server resets.
I had to leave squad due to invalid fittings, restarted PS3. I couldn't get invited back to squad because it thought I was in one, I couldn't join a game solo because it thought I was in a squad.
I did try sync timing the game with the others in my squad, didn't work. So I was basically done for the night, couldnt enter a game at all.
After restarting PS3, reinstalling the game, none of this worked which leads me to believe it's a server side issue.

Looks as though we're boned until CCP fixes this. None of the players in any of my channels can play, local is going crazy. This is the first massive bug that's effected gameplay on this scale. I just hope this fix comes soon. |

Had this problem, if you squad leader goes into a match he will still pull you into the game. re-join the team even if you already in that team, and it will resolve some of the issues but not all.
A slightly more severe problem is , not being able to log in to the game at all if you have to leave. Even with servers showing activity of 1800+ still playing, the server is telling me the servers are offline lol ( EU servers again). |

This must be quite bad, a few people I know have even installed the game from scratch with no real effect.
I managed a few games this morning and a couple after the backup but nothing since then. It keeps telling me im in a squad when I try to go to battle and Im not.
