Again, separate driver and gunner positions. The main gun can be operated completely independently of driving the tank, allowing it to be more maneuverable and it's main gun to be more effective, and it would now require no less than two people to operate an HAV, just as it takes more than one person to kill one. Everyone wins. |

I would support buying ammo I mean being able to resupply isn't really going to fix the infinite ammo problem in my eyes. I mean you get low and just pull up to a supply point and hey I have all the ammo I want again. Now in my opinion if I had to supply myself with my own ammo I wouldn't just "waste" ammo shooting at everything I think I could kill. I would take my shots and make them count. As far as my main gun no way I would trust a random blue dot to fight another tank for me. I had to pay for the tank I couldn't put it at risk with someone else shooting at other tanks. I mean they can't compensate for my movement meaning they may miss while i'm trying to meneuver on my target. I personally think thats a bad idea. Any thoughts on my opinion? Well, I know what you're saying about random blue dots, but what about another STB member? Also, I somewhat doubt they're going to go with making you purchase ammo because they're trying to make sure this game is less complex than EVE Online. Besides, having to use supply depots leaves you open to ambush by a crafty AV team, which further balances the playing field without further nerfing HAVs by making you have to keep dumping ISK into ammo for them. |

As an example, established doctrine within the US Army is to never use tanks without infantry support, which is part of why you almost always see Abrams platoons operating with Bradley support. |

They've been considering squad-locking of vehicles, and if they implement that, you could let someone else drive while you gun. |

I still think it would generate negative feedback kind of like how this nerf did.... It would be worth a try I wouldn't be the one testing it out though. Definately not at 1.5+ mil a pop.... Well, if they would do this, I think they should put HAVs back up to E3 build stats. With AV being buffed back up, all they'd need to do after that point was give a boost to Forge Gun range, and the balance would be pretty solid. |
