Some of the lamer HAV pilots are crying and refusing to even drive the darn things anymore.
AV weapons I been hearing are still broken in terms of function such as AV nades not detonating, one or two missiles of a swarm only hitting. Only good news so far the forge gun range indicator no longer lies to the user. |

HAV's worthless now. Only good for sitting at the spawn now and sniping with the railgun, provided you can get a direct chestshot with it. |

I just feel sorry for LAVs and Dropships now but they said they may be giving them hp until the tools for their survivability become available. |

Just finished my first game since the hotfix where I played solely as AV, I destroyed a kittenload of LAVs and 2 Caldary Gunloggi. (one solo) It seems like I got rewarded pretty handsomely too getting over 60k SP and 360k isk.
I killed the first Gunloggi with Swarm Launchers, I fired a few swarms at him before he took aim, I ran and he got me down to something like 15 armor hp I dropped a hive and restocked then he stupidly went back to where he was before (those stupid tank sniping positions on the map with 3 objectives. I crept up behind him and locked a swarm on him, got close, fired then fired all three other salvos without locking after which he drove his tank DOWN THE CLIFF. Sniper hit me once, went for cover, restocked ammo ran behind cover to where the tank was headed, finished him off from a distance.
The second one was actually quite awesome, I went as Heavy with Swarms, just kidding that would be just stupid... yet I still see that ALL THE FRICKIN' TME. I went with Assault Forge Gun of course, I hacked an abandoned LAV and drove right at the tank, swerving randomly in blind hope of avoid his blasts. I jumped over a small bank of sand in order to position myself behind him and it worked because the turnrates of their turrets is ridiculously slow now. I exited my LAV mid air just before it exploded and started shooting at him doing the heavy version of the scout jiggle (only works against Tanks with just a driver in). He was hitting me with spash damage every time and the blast from the earlier LAV explosion forced me to run after only 3 shots, he was pretty hurt and backed away full speed. (We both ran from each other). I ran behind cover trying to get to where he would come out only to be shot by motherkittening snipers again. I played it safe and followed the tank from a distance out of sniper range. I'd left him with shields down and armor about 75% full. I found him hiding behind some cliff not too far, shot at him and he was out of range (that was strange because he was definitly inside what would have been Forge Gun range before the patch, anyhow he got hit by 3 swarms from the other side of the map and went the way of the dinosaurs.

Skill won't make it aim or drive faster . I' used to be able to take out infantry with chest shots from the rail gun. I don't use the op missile launcher |

It's not that we are refusing to call them in anymore its that I have spent 25M on tanks this week Yippie and need to run militia fits so I can buy more...
They get destroyed in 3.5 seconds... Paran sits in the spawn sniping from far because the piece of **** moves like a turtle and AV murders you before you can say **** theres another proto swarm, God dammit, another 2M down the drain now I have to run around with 11000 snipers in scout suits, KITTEN!!! |

Tanks needed a nerf. This was not a nerf, it was appeasement. Tanks go boom to any braindead with militia gear instead of making the turrets have drawbacks so there is a different strategy for every tank and support gunners would be more important. |

I took my dropship out this morning to try it out with the nerf. Some quick math showed that my tankiest fit lost about a sixth of its eHP (4400 down to 3800) but I felt confident I could still survive. I loaded up the map, dropped in, called the Myron and...it wouldn't take off. Shortly thereafter an LAV came and killed it while it was grounded. So business as usual. |

lol. really? i have tanks. but i can shoot people better when i'm not in my tank. i only tank when other tanks come out. cause other AV is useless. glad to hear some of you tankers are pissed. its good to be able to shoot you out of your comfort zone. and wow, to lose 25mil in one week in tanks is garbage. i've only lost like 2-3 tanks this week. i have 16mil ISK saved. BTW, i run militia suits and mods. the only think my suit is not militia is Gun, 'nades, and light weapon damage mod. my best game yet with just my suit and no tank? 29/0... with my suit... best tank game was 43/0 though. but still, its cause tanks were OP. i sat at an objective where the whole team spawned in as heavy with swarms repeatedly. this was why i got so many tank kills.
glad to see tanks are nerfed atm, QQ didn't win and Tankers didn't win. CCP is tweaking them right now. dont QQ, everything will be okay. |

The problem is not the numbers aren't balanced yet. The issue is we are going the wrong way. If they settle anywhere in the middle between last fix and this one the tanks will be in a bad place. |

You keep your tank because you hide in your spawn when death and I are on the map... keep rolling back in there.
Armor tanks are getting murdered by swarms right now.. Zion Shad took me out by himself with a few proto hits. |

I mean whats wrong with adjusting things one bit at a time. Ow no lets just do a whole bunch of things at once lol CCP shanghai you failed in this but hey maybe its just that your spending more time on the next build and you already know this one is awful and ya already got it all balanced for us at the end of the month ??

Then you and other HAV users should start testing again to find a good place for the HAVs i'll support you because i know you are one of the few honest tank users i pointed out earlier. I'll give my feedback too but its too early now maybe after 3 days plus the numbers might seem off but one thing i learned in this beta numbers are not a good representative for actual performance, best example Heavy suits and HMG.

I've personally suggested a couple of changes that didn't require a nerf/buff, yet you've taken the lazy option and totally fecked it all up.
Hats off CCP.
You've not only failed by listening to the majority of whiners who have no clue what's actually going on in game. But you've screwed the game now for anybody who wanted to pilot vehicles.
Seriously do you all just want this to be a bullshit CoD/BF3 game set in the future?. I bloody don't and if that's the way this is heading then those two games are far better options as far as a decent FPS goes.
At least Dust has the promise of being something different, yet we're going down the "Vehicles are op and should be soloable, because that's "Balanced"" route.
I remember watching a fan fest video where CCP's CEO made the comment, "What we've learned from Eve is that PvP is inherently un-balanced" and that that was the way Dust was going. Seems like he was blatantly lying tbh. |

The game had escalated in a tank fest, were there other way to fix this? Yeah of course! But this was the fastest and now the game is back to a state where we can test all the neat infantry stuff again. This is a beta test... nothing here is set in stone. |

Again, a lot of this would be fixed by separating the driver and the gunner, because then all the arguments about HAVs being an easy ticket to killstreaks would be invalidated. With most of us going into matches in squads now, the issue of having some random as your gunner isn't an issue anymore, and a function to squad-lock vehicles would remove that danger entirely.
The turrets traverse slower now, and that's a major issue for HAV operators due to the fact that they have to manage motion and aiming at the same time, and the faster turret traversal made this possible. However, if you had separate seats for these functions the gunner could focus solely on that, allowing the tank to be more mobile since the driver no longer has to worry about moving to compliment his own aim.
Effectively, doing this would nerf and buff them at the same time. The would now require at least two people to be able to get anything done, but now with a gunner and driver who worked together, they could still be a formidable force. However, they would no longer be so driven by a single player. Besides, the driver would then be getting assist points for three turrets on a vehicle that we all no racks up kills very efficiently, meaning he wouldn't be missing out on much on that front. |
