About 50k sp, not a crazy amount, but I normally get around 15-20 playing support
I was playing medic, of which I often do, and there just so happened to be another medic in the field (For once!).
Skirmish, random spawns, but our entire team just got together as one big group and started dominating. Anytime someone died, there were at least 3 people in the area to revive them. Anytime someone took damage to their armor both of us medics teamed together to heal them. When the other medic went down I healed the guy who was reviving him.
Not only this, but we had a guy up at the front that got so much attention from us medics he didn't even take any damage. We had everything from heavies with HMGs to scouts with shotguns. I just wish more matches were like this.
But wait, they can be!
There needs to be more of a focus with players to actually team together instead of going off alone. When everyone sticks close together everything works better. Less people get hurt, enemies are easy to take down, progress is made.
Not only that, but I don;t have to run around all the time to heal everyone. When an objective is captured or an enemy killed, everyone runs away to different areas and I'm left choosing which player I want to follow. Most of the time this ends up with that guy running into a red blob and me just giving up on him only to die seconds later. This shouldn't happen |

This is a great example of people getting their butts in gear. I had a game myself where I got 80k SP acting as a squad leader. Squad leaders that appoint objectives, set attack and defend markers, and make sure everyone on their squad has their eyes open sparks a -tiny- bit of off-squad teamwork. When squads swarm, they swarm together. Even if a particular team gets steamrolled, that kind of teamwork is rewarding win or lose and it's a -blast- to watch. (Especially when your squad gets to deploy two orbital strikes.) |

I-SHAYZ-I, glad ya had fun. And completely agree with you about the team play is so much better than "HEY GUY'S WATCH ME RAMBO THEM ALL!!!!! MUA HAHAHAHAHA!! wait... WTF! how he bbq me?"
I too have had ambush battles like your experience. Mostly it's people spreading out thinking they can hide most the time and get them one on one.
I can recall one occasion, my team was not useing Team Chat. But we destroyed them by staying together. The enemy had two "paper tanks" and one dropship covering our position. Shotguns were holding the front line with HMG. Logi's were quick to pick us up and repair. Assaults whom had swarms were focusing on the dropship. The two guys with forge guns made short work of the "paper tanks" at medium range. Nanohives and Dropuplinks were in place for a long siege.
Though, we did not use voice comms, we won witha score like 30-0. Holding that little bit of ground was a rush. What made it better is as the score hit 30-01 many of us started jumping. lol
That was one victory I will never forget. it was too just great fun. Also can't stop thinking that in a few weeks Corp. battles are going to be much like this.
+1 to you for getting me to smile |

I'm glad you had this experience and I wish you many more...
But I do have to confess one little thing; When I run around a corner and see 4 reddots coming my way, when I'm in the heat of battle with enemies shooting at me from multiple directions simultaneously, when I'm down to 5% HP and still have two targets left shooting at me, when I have to throw down my nanohive in the middle of a gun fight cause I'm out of ammo, when I know I have about 3 seconds left to live, when the adrenaline start pumping, thats the times I truly enjoy FPS games, it was like that in Warhawk, MAG and definately in Dust too.
This makes running in the middle of a bluedot blob quite boring to be honest. I do my best to take an alternate route, it gets me killed a lot but it also make me come up behind enemies in my "microflanking" moves so I can very ofthen take out many who's got their attention elsewhere.
Does this make me a "Rambo" character? Does this make me a bad team player? I don't think so. I normally get many kills, which definately helps the team out for a win and I'm always carrying nanohives (which I very ofthen throw at peoples feet, especially the AV guys) and I start every Skirmish game by laying out two tactically placed drop uplinks, every time.
When this game gets out of its infancy I hope you get many more games like this where the peeps play co-ordinated and also rely more on the logistics in whatever they're trying to accomplish. Clanplay will definately help the Logi players get more SP. 50K skill points is a normal game for me, its usually higher.
My point is?
Keep it up! Players like myself are somewhat dependant on players like you and vice versa. I've been very grateful the few times someone has repaired my armor (I think its happened 3 times...) and I hope you appreciate the need for killers to stop your team from being over run. Logis will most likely get way more SP when they play in more organised group than this random beta.

i agree KingBabar, i too enjoy running in what i call "Train of Pain" but as you said it can be boring. so at times, i myself will try and flank where i see red dots. from what i read it seems OP just got in a game where people knew what they were doing. which, i find kinda rare as of late. how many people do not know what an Objective is? COD has ruined so many people... |

Not really, maybe a black-ops, ghost or more of a stealth based character. These are usually the fellows who use intel for their advantage and strike at the enemy teams weak points and generate chaos.
But even when playing like this, it would be good to have at least 1-3 GOOD players to help you by covering your back and help you with the attacks. There are probably plenty of situations where you have managed to infiltrate behind enemy lines and capture an objective with no one defending it. |
