Stay in one spot as long as it's safe. Shots are instant so you don't need to lead targets. Always carry a nano hive. |

Just because you don't know what you're talking about doesn't make me a troll. |

colonel deadshot wrote:dude the shots r not always instant and when they r running u need to otherwise u will fire at where they were not at where they are at. so lead them if they are traveling left or right so you can hit them.
Nah, this isn't accurate. Don't you notice that the people you shoot take damage instantly whether they're at 50 m or 500 m?
Jin Robot wrote:Dude, you most definitely have to lead a moving target. You are the one spreading false info. Maybe you only shoot at stationary
No, I have no trouble hitting targets running around. I'm actually pretty surprised that people think you need to lead targets. Maybe this is why most snipers have such low kill counts. As I said to the other guy, have you never shot someone at 500+ m? Don't you notice that they take damage immediately? That there isn't a delay? |

The charge rifle is the best rifle in the game. Most damage, lowest CPU/PG cost, lowest ISK cost.
Jin Robot wrote:Haha whatever dude, try shooting a moving target instead of the easy ones and come back and talk to us.
Play a game and shoot someone or something as far away from you as possible. See how long it takes before your shot does damage to the target. Spoiler: It's zero seconds. I guess if you're lagging or something you may need to compensate -- I've never experienced that myself though -- but the shots the rifle fires are instantaneous. You can easily test it, and if you've ever shot someone (like another sniper) at long range you'd realize that they die or at least take damage the instant you pull the trigger. |

That'd be weird. It really does the most damage per shot? I never even look at AUR stuff. That'd be some pay-to-win stuff right there. |

Two questions....
What does a drop suit do? (I'm guessing it allows me to spawn where I want?) What does a Hive do? and why should a sniper carry one?
Regards
Drop suit is the armor your clone is wearing and is what allows you to use certain weapons, equipment, and modules. There are currently four types of dropsuits. They vary based on their slots, speed, armor, shielding, and so on. Check out Dropsuit Fitting in your NeoCom to make new dropsuit fits and customize existing ones.
Nano hive is a piece of equipment which restores your ammunition. A sniper should always have one, because restoring your own ammo is a huge perk. Without a nano hive, you will be forced to run to a supply structure to get more rounds for your rifle. That takes time and can easily result in your death. With a nano hive, you can hang out in your little sniper nest the entire game if you want to.
Avenger 245 wrote:so yeah the shots are instant, human eyes to brain to finger to controller isnt, better to lead a small amount just enough to compensate for this.
He asked for tips, not pedantic mutterings. Yes, thank you, "shoot them when they're under your crosshairs", great advice.
Leos Valentine Vatta wrote:As Jin said, there is a need to lead your aim on a moving target. Although the impact of the rifle's projectile might be instantaneous in this game, there is still the delay in reaction time you need to account for
As above. You people are bad at giving advice to new players. |

I'm fairly sure if they're lagging your shot will be robbed from you by hit detection. You can't tell if they're lagging until you shoot them and they don't die or take damage in my experience. I've never encountered circumstances where I had to actually aim at a point ahead of a target in order to get a kill, stupid word-mincing "well your reflexes and the time to physically hit a button" bullshit aside. |
