Well aside from getting in the beta to help test etc I kinda came here so I would know which suit and gear I would spec into once the game went live so I wouldnGÇÖt waste sp and end up having SP all over the place.
I have used every proto suit and weapon system over all the builds so far and If IGÇÖm honest I still havenGÇÖt got a clue what to do. So I was hoping we could get some views from others on which and why for when the game goes live.
Now a lot of peeps have said just go for what is most fun for you. So I guess its Shield SMG scout with maxed out stamina skills carrying a few bits of team gear and or a swarmlauncher with av nades.
However last night was chatting with Tony C and his view is the AR is basically the most important weapon system in the game and maybe I should spec Assault AR.
Then another friend said if the suit HP nerf stays in the logi is the way to go if you only got one suit type because itGÇÖs so flexible .
Also I will be doing a lot of dropship piloting for my corp so itGÇÖs another reason IGÇÖm leaning towards the scout suit just so I can get to a good LZ fast. I would then spec pilot suit later on.
Any views anyone?

im the same as you, in the last build i tried everything, this build i told my self i would go logi, now i use every suit type and trained up most of the weapons so im clue less too, jack of all trades - master of none.
I think in the next build i will go for the AR and heavy, then i can move in to the forge gun, because i love blowing up tanks and drop ships
but we will see |

I think it's a bit early to be deciding tbh. We don't have the pilot or command suits yet and all the suits currently aren't set in stone. I know you've tried them all, but at this point it's all very subject to change imo.
I'm fairly sure for example the Pilot suit will be required to actually pilot any vehicle, much like the agile suit in Planetside. If this is the case and your intent on being a dropship pilot I'd say this is the way to go, I know it's probably what I'll be going for tbh.
As for the AR suggestion I'll concede it's pretty good in nearly all aspects of warfare, but in the same token I still do ok with the basic Assault rifle, so I'll probably not spec into it that much at all to begin with and place my points elsewhere.
For me the most important skills by far are Mechanics, Weaponry and Shield Management. Anything else after that is gravy imo. |

@ Tyas Borg See now thatGÇÖs interesting because I wouldnGÇÖt even bother training any armour skills at all, thatGÇÖs a job for my logi brosefs You might be right maybe its too soon to make up my mind but I kinda wana start heading down one road now so I can get some practice in.
As for the pilot suit thatGÇÖs gona be my secondary suit I expect (even tho i haz no idea wut it is yet)
Just rolled out with a well-built Shield Assault tactical AR /SMG suit and well it did work wonders in just about every situation I got myself into today and I canGÇÖt say I have managed to get that all roundness on any scout build I have made.
The SMG scouts either epic and all the bad guys die or it fails to get on target and I just cant make the AR/SMG scout work for me.
I'm ruling out the crusader suit because thats just not me really. @ fenrir storm
Yea I canGÇÖt really get into the hvy either even when it had its I win status it didnGÇÖt get my juices flowing.
@ dust badger I keep saying IGÇÖm gona spend time doing logi duty but it feels just like thatGǪDuty ..IGÇÖm all down for teamwork but I just canGÇÖt hang back and with those massive hitboxs well I just fail at the logi mindset.
So for me at least thatGÇÖs the Hvy and Logi ruled out with.
Arg its just every man and his dog is an assault with an AR and the scouts got a lot to contend with in the coming build what with Webs and crusader suits hitting our beta. |

currently as things look the Heavy is the only AV suit (forge), the HMg is a nice perk to this side of things, as is the boost up to mechanics and repair, for a logi fit later on.
I hav alts, my scout suit shall stay alive, but ill probably reroll the assault later given that there may be changes to the starter "classes".
I found myself left wanting more from the assault suit, its just not for me. |

Yea and with the HMG reworking I somtimes think that maybe I should at least spend the SP to get a type 2 (cos it works with my shield builds) with a HMG loadout cos rumor has it its gona be handy AV wise.
Great now I'm training 3 suits again

I found of all the milita builds that the Assult was the only one not put together by Lobotomised monkeys. |

Tehe yea I guess some just aint made of the right stuff for logi work.
I love being in the thick of it too and well the hvy is awesome 4 this but normally takes so long waddling to the fight its mostly over when he gets there and the scout canGÇÖt stand the heat against multiple foes for long but can get some wicked flanking moves pulled off while the Assault I guess is actually kinda good at er Assaulting and can pull off some basic flanking moves. |

As of right now, the scout suit for sheer mobility and speed. Whenever I switch to another suit, I find myself having a hard time adjusting to the slower turn speeds and movement (which I know is intended).
That being said, a lot of things may change between now and launch. My opinion is basically based on already outdated data. |

Command dropsuits are removed. Also, you have no idea in the slightest bit, how that's going to work.
First off, it looks like you have to buy installations, second, you'll need to be made commander probably at the beginning of the game, and thus, enjoy being in the MCC for the game, from the way it's looking.
Using the suit does not give you access to calling anything in, it just debuffs nearby enemies, using a module that will probably go in the tophat slot. (No tophats :'( )
But anyways, I'm using a crusader suit (New commander suit) Whenever I can. |

Links?...
As for how it would work -- I figuered it would be a kin to MAG in the sense of a command chain. Not worried about my chances of a position, and as for the dropsuit itself, I knew that already, but hey thanks for the reminder. Herp. |

Mags command chain was garbage. I'm going on the Battlefield 2 command idea. Where you have a squad leader, who can speak to the commander.
I don't actually have links, I'd have to dig them up again, but I know for sure that... 1. There will be a single commander 2. They DO still get a command suit, but it either comes when commander comes, or it comes with being a commander. Can't tell what they meant in their post, when they mentioned it. 3. They will be able to get in the MCC ( I don't know if it's forced or if they have the choice.) 4. They will be able to choose where installations go ( I don't know if it's before game or mid-game) 5. They will be able to see the game from an RTS- style viewpoint.
And then speculation of my own here.
I think commanders will probably be the ones that get to accept or deny vehicles. A lot of the game will be corp based, and that wouldn't be a problem, ass holery-wise, as they wouldn't try ******* up the game. It makes sense too. Instead of letting the players fill the vehicle quota with garbage, let a commander manage what can be deployed.
At one point, being able to call in installations was based off of warpoints from the whole team. I don't know if this is still the case, or if they've changed it.
We also do not get commanders on release.
Also, becoming a higher ranking member would make no sense with a mag-esque function, seeing as how we don't actually have ranks, and basing it off of total SP is idiotic.
It will probably be a vote, or higher ranking member in the corp? Perhaps rank settings to allow for commander, at a higher level than those prior to it, so that if one isn't on, a lower ranking member can take it. |

Hm.. We'll just have to wait and see I suppose. I'm actually dishearted by the loss of the command dropsuit though. I waited for months for it come out. Not to say that if what you say is true that it is not a good idea. It is, and makes sense. I just hope then that CCP will have something a kin for us use in it's stead. |

We get the crusader dropsuit, which is the replacement for command. I don't know if it has the same features or not. |

i dont think "command suits" give you the command position i think they have a buff and debuff role on the battlefield, where as the logi provides healths and logistics the command suit would provide buffing and debuffing |
