I'll try to make this as short and to the point as possible:
-Replace Up on the D-pad with a push to talk/ toggle to talk button with the ability to broadcast to the team (no more need to switch back and forth to team and squad chat)
-Friendly Proxy Chat (you can hear friendlies nearby and in vehicles with you automatically)
OTHER OPTIONS: -Limit team broadcast to Squad leaders and make it where only the squad leaders hear each other when the up on the D-pad is used
Currently the two channel system just ends up with most people in squad chat and a few stragglers in team chat. It needs to be addressed.
Thoughts and suggestions welcome. |

You would access the scoreboard through the Necom (Start Menu). |

I was thinking about scrapping the PTT button as well, but I've found there still a lot of people that use it. I personally wouldn't miss it.
My thought on removing the scoreboard hot key is that does give you good information, but it doesn't enhance gameplay directly. You can still access the info; it just takes more time to do so. |

For a simple solution I think that could work really well. I just think we may need to get away from the idea of having two distinct channels where you can't hear someone if they are in a channel different from you.
It would be nice to keep the squad chatter from broadcasting to the rest of the team, while still being able to do burst of team wide coms.

If the team chat was limited to squad leaders what do you guys think about having friendly proxy voice coms? That way if you link up with friendlies on the field or if you are in a vehicle together you can directly coordinate.
Would something like this introduce lag or increase server load? I haven't played a game with proxy chat since the early days of Counter Strike, so I'm not familiar with how it's been implemented in more recent games.
On the note of the channels, I think people need to hear both at all times and not have to switch around channel. Who is able to hear those channels and who is able to talk in them I'm not sure. I'm leaning more to squad leaders having a channel they can always hear and listen too, but I think the points made about people not even realizing they are squad leaders in pub matches is valid. |

The reason behind friendly proxy chat is that my goal is to minimize and eliminate channel switching as much as possible.
I see it being really important in the operation of a dropship where the guys being bussed around would be able to communicate to the pilot and vice versa. This would also help if you get people not in a squad in a tank, lav, etc. |

I think this would be a good stopgap Altaree, but in the longterm I think we are going to something more substantial. 16 Random people shouting out stuff can get very cluttered very fast.
If we end up with a squad channel and squad leader channel I think proxy would fill in the gaps for situations where this might cause a problem. |

I appreciate the thread necromancy KAGEHOSHI Horned Wolf.
But yeah, proxy chat would be nice and I think it would solve many coms issues in pub matches. I still think it would need to be limited to friendly proxy chat. |
