AV weapons should be a secondary weapon i.e. rockets etc...
i play as a HMG and finding going up against tanks to hard to change to a AV drop suit... or give a HMG that can go against a tank?
thinking about it maybe give me two modes on HMG, one for infantry and one for tanks? with the AV HMG mode low ROF and higher power output? so it can't be used against infantry?
do tanks in DUST 514 have weak spots?

I guess skilled AV grenades can bring a lot of troubles to tanks. I said that cause it's pain in the ass when couple of infantries attacking my tank with AVs |

You're trying to fill multiple roles at once of being anti infantry with an HMG while still being able to be AV, and its that sort of thing that CCP specifically wants to prevent. In order to gain AV, you have to give something up in return (ie your AP ability), its what drives teamwork and diversity within the game.
AV grenades are a nice way to deal with vehicles though. They're very effective against LAVs, difficult to use against Dropships, and if a couple guys use them on a tank, it can cause the tank serious issues.
Also tanks are supposedly weak in the back of the tank, though I have not personally done damage testing on that so I cant confirm or deny. |

The problem is AV gear cost as much a fikken tank yet because a AV troop is so weak to Infantry AND he might not get the kill due to having to work with others to take the tank down ....AND if he's a AV Heay he has no other way to support his squad due to having no equipment slots , they are barely compensated for the work .
Why are AV troopers the only one having to build a completely separate fit just to fund their habit ?Yet they must skill into the higher guns to remain effective? Not even Logi's have it that bad . |

Does no one use remote explosives against tanks? They used to be decent in the last build as an AV weapon.
I have seen them in maybe 2 matches in the last 3 weeks. But they can't be that bad... hmm. Will have to give it a try. |

they're still just as fun for dealing with LAV's
not so effective against tanks anymore,,, but every little helps lol |

I wish I would have never even specced into swarm launchers. AV grenades are more effective and easier to use. Put down nanohive safely behind cover, lob lolhoming AV grenades, all low tier tanks run away or die. Trying to kill a tank with swarm launchers will bring you nothing but death and sadness. |

Remote don't really hurt tanks. I tricked a tank into running over a full cluster of 5. Shields went down to 60% :( |
