Beta is looking awful!
Eve is a total mystery to me, even after spending 5 hours in it. But CCP is based in Iceland, so am I, so I really wanted to love this game. But after having spent about 3 hrs. playing this Beta I have decieded that this game is a total bust. The weapons look, feel and operate awfully, especially the sniper . The graphics are bland and extremely dull. It can also be too chaotic at times, not in a fun way.
Don't want to spend anymore time trash talking Dust. Bottomline is, CCP produces boring, mondaine stuff and I wish it weren't based in little old Iceland... a damn shame. |

Either a troll, or someone else demonstrating the evermore common ability to miss the CLOSED TESTING - WORK IN PROGRESS notifier across the top of the bloody screen constantly. The game didn't look anywhere near this good in Replication, and didn't even look this good in the E3 build. You have come into the beta 4 months before Open Beta when most of the assets will be feature complete, and are complaining about playing unfinished software.
And the sad thing is that you're only one of the more recent in a very long line of people to do so. |

You realize the graphics are dull so you dont have a 15 gb download for every update right? Once it launches itll have much improved graphics. |

Just because you find it boring and mundane to play games that...... You know what? I can't even be bothered anymore. If you don't like the game then please just leave and stop posting about it. |

Closed beta.. is more of a updated alpha.. so yea its a ( work in progress) Bugs / Glitchs / balance issues / graphics / equipment customization... all in the works for fine tuning keeping items or removing them ect...
Open beta will be better then there is game release.. right now i see a year or two before its ready for open beta and game release.
If you were thinking polished game and playing for fun.. this is not it yet.. go play eve online for the PC or MW3 of battlefield 3 while you wait.. |

I have to agree with a portion of what your saying. I don't care about graphics, but the core of the game is pretty broken. Under all the problems I see potential for a decent shooter, but there will have to be some serious improvements in the little time they have until release.
Saying that anything goes, quality wise, because it's a beta is naive. If you want a comparison, compare this beta to other beta shooters. This is by far the most broken fundamentally that I have ever seen on a console. I have played betas with frame rate issues, unbalanced classes, server connection issues and poor spawn systems. However, those games usually only had 1 or 2 of those problems. This one has all 4.
Here is to hoping they work 4 times harder to make up for it. |

Are you kidding? When I started the free two-week trial, I didn't know what I was doing for at least the first week. People are still learning things about the game after playing for a year.
And you expect to figure it out in five hours?
Anyway, this is a beta. That means it's not done. It's far from done. It's a few months from open beta and probably about six months away from release.
If you don't have enough patience to stick with EVE for more than five hours, this game may not be for you either. |

Very disappointing replies to this thread. Alot of you guys aren't getting the bigger picture here.
The simple fact is, the vast majority of players are going to feel exactly the same way about this game unless there is a DRAMATIC change between now and release. |

Im not a fan of how vehicles drive. However, the RPG element of building up stats reminds me of Boarderlands. I can see myself getting extremely annoyed when trying to kill someone with a powerful sheild |

Really? It's a beta?
What is this beta forum for? Do we come in here after finding fault with the beta and say "I don't like the shooting mechanics or various other aspects of the game but hey, that's ok...it's a beta". No.
We are here to play DUST and report our feedback to the dev team.
This isn't about beta or alpha or any other stage of development. It's about giving concise, honest, clear feedback.
I run my own business. I don't listen to people who praise my work or give me positive feedback. I listen to the people with criticisms. I always want to know what I can do to improve every aspect of what I do.
Smart developers do this. They don't reply with "LOLZ GO PLAY CoD SKRUBZ". Whether you like the OP or not, his feedback is relevant.

I think what they (or at least some of them) mean by 'it's beta' is that patience is needed. Some of the problems are already known and are being worked on. Most of the OP's comments are 'this sucks', while it would be much more helpful post 'this sucks because...' To fix problems, the devs need constructive criticism, not just criticism. |

You've got to pay attention to everything.
There a lot of very big shooters being released over the next few months. Borderlands 2, Medal of Honor, Black Ops 2...etc. DUST will need to attract players away from those franchises. The kinds of players like the OP that don't have patience to wait around for things to improve. They want it all NOW. That's the massive task facing this game.
CCP would do well to keep a lid on beta access until the game is in better condition.
Right now it's getting a serious panning on various game forums. |

From what I recall, we are a patch or two behind what the Devs are typically working on. They fix bugs, work on features of Patch+2. At this time their internal QA is working on Patch+1 making sure it won't delete our characters, set the PS3 on fire, etc. And we are working on this Patch.. We find Core issues should mass testing, report it to CCP and they get it fixed for Patch+2. Any of our feature requests wont make it in for about two patches if you've noticed the trend in the past. That's what I believe is happening at least. |

Hey, is it me, or have you actually played a REAL BETA? Most other betas, especially console based ones, over the last 2-3 years has been OVER GLORIFIED PR stunts. You are comparing this game that is STILL IN PRODUCTION to games that you have "beta tested" that ended up being released 2 weeks to a month later. Not only that, but those betas RARELY implement any adjustments to the game let alone maintain any kind of forums for any kind of interaction with the "beta testers."
So before people become too judgmental of the going ons of this ACTUAL BETA, just think about the last couple years of beta presented to console players. And if you don't like it, don't play it. |

LOL, everyone saying that the core mechanics suck. I've been playing a solid 1-2 hours every night and i've been loving it, despite the OP tanks, the still present hit detection problems (or maybe i am just that bad at aiming :P) and all the rest of the problems.
All i want now are my lasers and this game will be complete |

I ageree.... I am learning day in and day out. People who expect things on a silver plate will never get EVE.... and they shouldn't for being so lazy. EVE is in my thought the best thing out there. DUST 514 is getting there and will be the best FPS out on the market. Perhaps you should move from Iceland... |

Hell, this BETA has less problems than some finished games I've played online (looking at you Mass Effect 3). |
