Having said that (and having played EVE) I am confident that there are all sorts of important things about running as a Logi that I'm clueless about at present. Any feedback for those of us who are new (to the game or to Logi) and have the will but do not yet know the way?

ps ~ like the idea of the OP :)
LogiBro forever!
Battle Support is critical. One of the best things a Logi/Med can do is level up your nanite injectors to fully rez your team mates and get your NanoHives to rep armour... but only if your in a team with comms - don't use it for randoms.
On top of that the proto has 4 high and 4 low. You are the only suit that could max out damage with modules and put biotics on the lows to sprint like the devil. Or shield up or armor up and become the walking tank repper... so many possibilities.
But, very skill heavy and module centric
Standard play is usually to max Weaponry skill first: you must support your team, defend and take out enemies to create a safe area to rez a teammate.
BUY AND USE the non-milita version often, the one with three equipment slots. YOUR first loadout equipment should be a NANITE injector, Drop Uplink, nanite supply. Then second build replaces the droplink with the repair tool. Spawn with the first, play till death. If ever the drop uplink goes down you spawn with the first again. Make militia versions with the nanite injectors and 1Droplink, 2Supply, 3Repper. 3 limited militia builds but wont cost you any money.
Your Logi has ONE weapon slot - make it count. Consider maxing
a weapon, I usually run a tactical assault rifle for picking off stragglers and snipers or a mass driver, still glitchy and complicated.
Get you Dropsuit skill up - To the Advanced level and proto eventually if you run with a team (can be done later) for all those module and equipment slots
Get your nano's and electronics up for rezzing and resupply
Mechanics for hp and armor
The Repairing and Remote repping could be done later
Shields are important, make you live longer
that is just a few basics. more to come
