Parson, yes we understand that section of the war point system, I have been in the beta a very long time. And yes Support is currently defined as any action which would result in war points except for those gained by kills. and yes we only use 50 for kills, because following your command orders would be considered supporting your team. this probably will change once we have access to the API and can seperate the War points gained from different sources, if that information is included and tracked. I do have training and experience in statistics creation and analysis, as do some of the others who help craft these formula.
Zekain Kade, High KDR does not always mean high WP, SP, or ISK just as High SP, WP, or ISK does not means your KDR is high. That is improper assumption of the statistics. |

Admittedly I haven't taken any sort of statistics course, so maybe I have no idea what I'm talking about, but...
I'm a little skeptical with respect to how the Support and Combo scores are calculated relative to Ambush/Skirmish matches played. In some Ambush maps there aren't any supply depots so it isn't really viable to go in as anything that plays any sort of support role, not to mention that there's nothing to hack.
In other words, I imagine at some point you're going to compare the "Warpoints after Kills" to "Warpoints total" when calculating the Support and/or Combo roles. For those people who maybe prefer Ambush maps, or don't leave a map just because it isn't a Skirmish, it seems like this is going to skew against them because their warpoints from kills is going to be much higher (relative to warpoints total) than someone who either doesn't do as well in ambush maps, or plays predominantly skirmish mode.
I know I sound like I have some vendetta against this whole thing, but I really do like the idea. |

Again, you get Support points from more things than hacking, drop a nano hive and resupply others, drop a uplink and let people spawn in, kill assists, repping people, reviving people, blowing up LAV/HAV/Dropships, and Following squad orders. there are plenty of opportunities in both game types to get non kill warpoints. However, no one is forcing anyone to use these stats, or the site, I'm putting it out there to help the community. It's is up to the community on how they use it, atm about 75% of the features are ones requested by members of the community. if you have an idea you think I should add to the site feel free to email me at the address provided in the OP |

sadly when the wipe comes, I'm gonna dump the data I have, and then wipe the current chars. then I will sift thru all the data and do some statistics, and we all start over at 0. Once the game goes live, well yeah it's live and unless something goes sideways there won't be any wipes of data. |

Fair enough, I can see motives for doing it either way and you're the one building it so clearly it's your call (not to mention you have more info than I do). In any event thanks for the heads up and I'll try to make sure I update as near to right before wipe as I can because I'm interested to see what my final stats are on this build.

I have a minor request for during beta, would you please post here a few hours (or a day?) before you do the wipe? I'd like to record my final stats and compare them to how I progress in the next build, give myself some context for what's working and what isn't.
I'm sure I'll have more substantive feedback as things progress, with the next build displaying more information (or so I've heard) and once APIs are opened up. Till then many of them will just have to wait (an ISK earned/destroyed/lost tally for example would be great but as far as I know the data to do that isn't available yet).

Hey Heinz, just a suggestion but when you click on a category it defaults to showing the list from low score-high score. Thinking it should default to the high score on the top. Not a big deal but how most statistic listings operate. Anyway, i support this and can't wait til it links with the API so everyone is shown. Nice work. |

actually what is happening is both the focus and the direction are changed with the same click, so if with the list inverted you click a different set it will revert for that list. it's a feature I will talk with my coder about. |

@Heinz Reading the explanations you have given I'd say your combo score doesn't take into account tank assist. In fairness we don't have the raw data (no assists/vehicle assists stat on char sheet), so I'm stickIng with my original view that the results are highly subjective. Good job anyway. When they allow us to provide more accurate data (assists, repair points, basically all the stats MAG gave you...) I might get something out of it. |

Just a quick Update, we have seperated the KDR graph from the other scores, as this was causing some issues for those with really high KDR, and have begun code refinement to allow corporations to have their own look within the site. I would once again like to say thank you to everyone is helping to test the site. and we hope that it helps you in the future. |

Fact of the matter is, if someone is tearing it up, it doesn't really matter in New Eden how they did it. If a massive cap fleet takes your entire alliance to pieces...too bad, so sad.
If someone is posting up great scores and points because they are a great tanker, cool. Dropship pilot? Cool. Dedicated turreteer? Good, I want you on my team in our turrets. Discounting vehicles because they aren't "gun game" enough in this game just doesn't have a place. |

it's not that we are discounting tankers, or anyone else, however, the formula takes them into account so that everyone, no matter the play style can be judged with the same numbers. If you look at the leaderboard, you will find tankers at the top, in the middle and at the bottom, same as logibros, snipers, and heavies. |

Thank you for your support and yes it looks like the Wipe will occur on monday morning, I will also be doing a stat wipe and have sent a message to all users about this. if you wish to get your final scores in and copy them down please do so before DT on monday, as I am not sure when monday morning I will be doing the updates.
