The missile tracking from these things is rediculous. I can't move behind buildings and make the missiles hit stuff anymore. Takes any strategy you have away form you. It has been like this for a while. I didn't complain until I got a drop ship and seen just how bad it was. I saw the swarm launcher fire coming from across the map. I think to myself no big deal I will just duck down and let them htt the building and then come back out. Wrong! They went to where I was when he locked me and made a 90 degree turn to come at me. That is way off for missile tracking. It is very unrealistic for missiles to turn in this way. That is something that should be fixed in my opinion. |

Yeah dropship pilots have been unhappy about swarms for a while. When you're airborne they are nearly impossible to avoid, and if you do manage to dodge them enough they just group up together and you'll get hit by 10 volleys all at once.
Thankfully CCP has said in IRC this will be addressed |

I have actually finally figured out 2 tactics to loose swarms. Not going to give that secret out of coarse.
But now on teds post. Ya I have had this happen many times for me also so hiding behind building is only used now to break locks and I use other methods to loose them. Swarms seem to follow the exact same path you take I have went up and over buildings and drop down on the other side just to see swarms go up and over and drive me into the ground. They seem to be a little too smart. |

the missiles are too smart? in a universe that has 4 different civilizations that have mastered space travel, down to having faster than light travel tech? you think they wouldn't have improved them over the 1000 or so years it will take for our tech to get to the same level? I'm amazed we aren't able to bring robots onto the field to bolster numbers. |

Yes misiles should be able to fallow u but not for ur exact path thats just unrealistic unless there right on ur six there following the dropship taking the shortest route folloing the ghost aint realistic |

Not sure what kind of swarm launchers you guys are using but from my experience they are about useless. The damage has been horribly nerfed and missles tend to just dive into the ground when they get close to there target. It is called an antivehicle weapon after all, ground troops should have the ability to fight back against vehicles. A multimillion dollar tank should be devastating and hard to kill but it should not be an easy way to go 30 and 0 every battle. |

only way to kill a tank atm is to have 2-5 people all spawn with forge guns and attack it at roughtly the same time. |

perhaps a attachment that temporarily scrambles tracking for swarm rockets. just scrambles does not destroy. that way a good pilot can escape but a chimp with a flight stick still gets cooked .
tanks are beefy. but maybe a weak spot on them would be a solution. but in a different spot on different models. this can be paired with a modification to high dollar swarm launchers to focus on one spot. so after initial lock on you could either have a second target lock that tags weak spots. or a manual targeting system that allows you to drag a special lock box over what you think is a weak spot . this makes tanks less unstoppable but does not make them wimps. |

After 21000+ years from the 21st century, development should have given the Swarm Launcher missiles the ability to loiter over target area if lock is lost in an attempt to reaquire programmed target. Where is the Twin Stage AV warhead - first warhead weakens the shields the second shaped charge cuts into tha armour. |

Um I just picked up on the Swarm launcher and I have to say that for someone who doesn't have experience (let alone skill) with this weapon it's pretty hard to hit a drop ship. I had a match the other day where I was using the top level Swarm launcher and I almost wasted all my ammo on trying to hit a dropship.
So if you guys are having a hard time then there must some pretty good Launchers out there, cause I'm suckin right now. |

It's the same for me. It seems for a missile launcher it doesn't do very much dmg. I've unloaded my ammo on tanks/dropships and not even made a dent. Makes the heavy class very enjoyable. |

It's mostly just not using the Militia launcher and the heavy suit. Any other suit can also have the nanohive necessary to have enough ammo to do anything, and the standard version has a 4 shot clip, unlike the 2 shot militia.
Also, you only appear to do almost nothing because most people use Caldari tanks, which have a ton of shields... but strip them away and its fish in a barrel. Even a lowly Soma can outright murder a Sagaris because of its dependance on shield, just ask BAD FURRY, or the two Sagaris sized holes in his wallet :P |

I too have had this problem, and when your ship costs a fortune and is taken out by some freebie gear, that is a little broken. So; - either make the missiles more stupid -give the dropship an anti missile system like Chaff or something which has limited use or takes skill to use. |

just give us a module that drops flares that you need to activate like shields and have a reload time. At the moment as soon you call in your dropship and take off you are targeted allready by 3 guys who spawned with the heavy shock fit. Not funny at all cause the only way at the moment is to go full speed and hope that the swarms go away. But if you get hit only once you drop upside down and 300 missiles are hiting you at once. Doesnt matter if you have the best dropship fit in the world. |

You guys must be doing it wrong. There are dropships that are completely immune to swarm launchers because they are so fast. I have advanced model swarms and unloaded about four lives worth at one and he just kept doing laps around the map laughing at us. Not ONE missle hit.
I am sure this is working as intended. Surely. |
