I'll explain my problems with the gunplay. My experiences are primarily with the assault rifles and turrets.
ARs(I have operation at lvl 3,and sharpshooter at 4)
Hit detection still seems to be a little bit off, especially when trying to hit a running scout.I either see the red X and see no damage,or I'm shooting the crap out of them at point blank range, and nothing is registering.
At range,I find it incredibly difficult to hit anyone with precision do to the fact that the controls seem to either have a dead spot for very small precise movement,or it's just unresponsive. When I say at range,it's anything that's outside of 25-30 meters. On MAG,a game that I was very use to playing,I didn't have any trouble hitting my targets at ranges up to and sometimes over 50 meters with the ARs,and that's with me having to compensate for random bullet spread, mind you.In this beta,I just find that the controls, pretty much in general, and more teetering towards being unresponsive, and far less intuitive that any other shooter.
With that lack of precision,I also find it to be pretty damn hard to get headshots at anything over 25 meters.Again,a problem that I've never really had in any other shooters.
I know they want to keep this game a little more grounded, but shooting while on the move is pretty difficult as well. With all of the other stuff that they have to keep this game from being a typical arcade style shooter, like limited bunny hopping,no knife spam, can't reload while sprinting,or sprint while strafing,I think that lessening your accuracy while on the run is probably on of the biggest reasons why people feel like the game is slower.Obviously this is all by design, but at the end of the day,you have to make some concessions when making a shooter, and I think this is one of them.
Turrets
Plain and simple, they are a far cry from what they use to be in the previous build.I can hit someone point blank in the chest, and it won't even register a hit.Splash damage is seemingly reduced as well.So again,it looks like it could be an issue with hit detection.
So there you have it.I don't know if anyone else has the same issues that I do,but that's my experience to be as detailed as possible.I'm expecting an improvement in the next build, but if it isn't,especially with the lag spikes and one second freezes that I have when I put my dot on someone's head, then My limited play time will be further reduced until it gets better.

Most of us are very aware that this is a beta and know the difference between a beta and a demo. What scares me about this beta is that this beta is in the public phase and there is still so much wrong with it. I wont start a rant about it here (I will save that for another place and time) but my fear is this game is closer to release than you might realize. Anyone here beta test on SOCOM Confrontation? That game was released while the beta was still going on and it was still severely broke a year after it was released.
I don't know how you consider that to be a fair comparison.Zipper has screwed over more than one game, while this is CCP's second, and first on a console? I have to admit,I'm more than a lot bothered by the instability of this build, but I am willing to wait and see what the subsequent iterations are to bring. If there's undeniable improvements to the next build, then we know that it's going in the right direction,if not, then I truly believe that would be cause for concern.
They have to get the lag,hit detection, and server stability in check before anything else.If they can at least get those things squared away in the next build, then that's reason for me to stay optimistic. There are unique qualities about the gameplay that will always be subjective, but if people are constantly getting kicked or freeze out of matches,or their console crashes, well that's just unacceptable in today's online gaming environment, and MUST be the focal point of improvement before anything else.

TREY Trey wrote:What I hate most about it right now is the lack of massive multiplayer. It's only 16vs16 Even MAG and Resistance 2 could do more than that.
I want more players per map. Large scale multiplayer. That's why I enjoy MMO games, and why MAG is my favorite FPS this generation. At this point, absolutely not.
I know that people want a massive scaled war,but what good is it to have 32vs32 is the servers can't handle it?
With the condition that the server infrastructure is in at the moment, increased players per match would be a total disaster. |

I hope this view isn't going to be a permanent feature and we see something more akin to the E3 2011 view. Again, for me, it creates a disconnect between the weapon and the player. The weapon doesn't have any identity any more and is replaced with an ugly camera view.
I also feel there's a severe lack of feedback, both aural and tactile. Let's take COD: Black Ops as an example. When you are shooting an enemy you clearly hear "THUD" sounds and feel small vibrations in the control pad. It also has the hitmarkers on screen at the same time. Dust has the red X at the moment but it needs more IMO. There's also no enemy death noise and death animations are not up to the standard of other engines.
For me,ADS needs work on it's feedback.Seems that it's more unresponsive than hip firing, which I find terribly inaccurate.
There is a sound for killing someone, don't know how you don't hear it.It's probably THE most satisfying thing in the beta right now,is hearing that loud bombastic *BUMP* sound.I will agree that it would feel more complete with a little tactile feedback though. |

I'm talking more about a death scream or something to that effect. The BUMP is like a windows error message, sounds lame IMO. Well,I think thats a completely irrelevant thing to ask for, imo. No offense, but if that's one of your main gripes, then you might as well stop playing now, because asking for something so trivial just seems like with all of the other issues, nothing will ever make you happy. |

I suggest you stop taking it so personally. I am in the beta to give feedback. I will continue to do so whether or not you agree with what I post. None of the things posted are trivial. They all add to the experience. Every single small improvement can only serve to make the game better.
Not taking in personally, and you gave your feedback, now I gave you mine, and I think having a guy that you shot scream is irrelevant, especially considering the other things that need to be fixed in the beta.
Furthermore, seems like you are taking it personal.I didn't call you any names or insult you,so sorry if you took it that way.
