How about support for XCM Cross Battle Adapter? Can one of the devs pick one up and test this game out with a superior controller?

R1: Shoot R2: Select equipment L1: Aim down the sights L2: Grenade L3: Sprint R3: Crouch
Cross (X): Jump Square/Box ([]): Reload Triangle (/\): Switch between primary and secondary weapons Circle (O): Interact
L-dpad: Chat R-dpad: Request vehicle Up-dpad: Scoreboard Down d-pad: PTT
Start: NeoCom Select: Map
Honestly, I'd rather have a fully customizeable control scheme. Please implement this at release CCP. |

My 2ISK for this topic would be in infantry mode, now that we are going to have knife as a weapon amongst others, is to have R3 mapped as a look-around functionality. Similar to ARMA II, where one would still be in 1st person mode and to use it to turn your head around. Naturally limiting the maximum turn angles to apropriate values. |

I figure if the guys on KB/M have these options available then those of us on the controller should also be afforded the same kind of opportunity.
2nd this. Our own keymaps would be great, allowing everyone to configure it the way they want. |

I'd like to see things placed better in the selection wheel for easier and more accurate selecting.
Basically put the items on North, East, South and West. Instead of the current mess we have now. I've selected the wrong repairer or items a few times now and this would stop that.
Obviously as you progress in skills and unlock things with more slots then perhaps move to the diagonals, but just keep them seperated and on the Up, Down Left Right instead.
For selecting weapons I think it'd be better to use a system like holding the R2 down and pressing square and circle to cycle through weapons. If you did this then you could even remove all weapons from the selection wheel freeing up more space.
Or keep the current tapping of R2 to change weapons only and keep equipment for when you hold it down and bring up the wheel instead. |

I don't know if it's just because I'm not used to the PS3 Controller, but I'm having trouble with L3 as the Sprint button. I find it's someitmes hard to push it down and forward, and hold it down. It usually takes 1-3 tries to start sprinting.
So I don't know where this should be mapped to, but any button would be better than the joystick for me.
Thanks! |

Ideal control scheme:
L3 to crouch. L2 as a Sprint button. Triangle for weapon switch (and ONLY weapon switch). Circle to throw a grenade. Keep square as reload, but ALSO make it the "interact" button - climbing ladders, hacking, etc. R2 would remain as the equipment wheel, but tapping wouldn't act as a weapon switch.
Alternate preferred scheme - less variance from current control setup
L3 to crouch. L2 as a Sprint button. Triangle for weapon switch, hold to open equipment wheel. R2 to throw a grenade.
In both cases, the remaining controls could be kept as-is for me.
I don't see any good reason NOT to provide full controller remapping, honestly. Let us create OUR OWN control schemes, and you won't have to gives us so many presets. |

How about just make it like on a PC FPS? Where you can set every single action as whatever you want it?
Usually when I play FPS games, I switch my controls completely different from everyone else anyway.
Minus using R2, and L2. I would like those to be aim and trigger. Reverse that of course. |

It would be much better if the speed control on the dropship is on the analog sticks and on L2 a "View Down" mode where you look straight on the ground. Left Stick: Speed, Roll (Rotating over long-axis) Right stick: Nose up/down, Rotate over z axis L2: Look down
The camera should be fixed to the nose so you look always in the direction you fly. |

If we only get one option in terms of controller customization, I would like the option to flip the trigger controls. Basically,
L1 - Grenade L2 - ADS R1 - Switch weapon R2 - Fire weapon
This is personal opinion, but it shares the feelings of many others. I only recently got a Playstation 3, and I've been using the common Xbox trigger layout for shooters pretty much ever since I was a little kid, so there's obvious preference. But.
I also prefer the tactile feel of a trigger compared to something as binary as a button. It allows for better shot control, and allows me to conserve ammunition in a firefight at longer ranges if I'm using an automatic weapon. Also, I feel that it's simply harder to aim and shoot with the current set-up. Perhaps, I'm just not used to it, but I have to put more pressure from my index finger onto the button then I do with a trigger, and it makes precise aiming with my thumb difficult. A severe disadvantage in an engagement. |

Using R2 for the primary fire button on the DS3s would be pretty odd, seeing as how it takes more time/force to fully press than the R1 button. |

Why is it impossible for us to just have "programmable" buttons, like on a mouse and keyboard? Stick use my not be able to be changed, but buttons should be able to be changed individually to the users likes and choices?
Is it not possible to do this? I can't recall any games that I have played where this was possible, but I wouldn't think it would be to difficult. |
