...would a DEV mind posting what/where they are? Would really be nice to be kept in the loop on the forums. |

WAITAMINUTE! How are you expected to aim Swarm Launchers (which auto lock) or AV grenades (which home)? I can see an argument for AV, but how can Swarms, the average Joe of AV, actually HIT a weakspot? |

DS vs land LAV/tank Get a dropship and fly over a tank/LAV blindspot close to directly above it.
Tank vs DS Shoot your railgun between 1-2 times to take it out, the person on the top turret can also deal damage and knock it back.
LAV vs DS Get tons of LAVs and constantly shoot at a DS. The knock-back force of each missile/rail will make flying harder and make the DS more vulnerable to crashing
--Edit-- Also get a squad with swarm launchers/forgeguns and AV grenades and have fun. Even if you don't kill it, you should be able to get enough points to call in a precision strike(orbital strike) on the tank(s). |

All of those situation happen in some sort of perfect vacuum where there's no counter to your "PLEASE SHOOT ME IN THE FACE" AV fit
This isn't DarkSouls where one player gets to be the Stray Demon and we all try to slay it. It's supposed to be a balanced shooter where the reward of going 59-0 in a match is tempered by risk. With the current AV nerf that risk is almost nil.
I doubt a proto forge could even put a dent in a properly fit Gunlogi. Good luck with the "Oh hi, I'm a Sitting Duck Please Shoot ME in the Face" Breach forge. |

You completely misunderstood me. The weak point isn't the blindspot, it is the area where a damage multiplier is added, like on a headshot. The DEVs said they added them, so I simply ask where they are. |

Well, if you aim down the sights at them you can see your effective damage % go up on certain points.
the only problem is that you can't target them with swarms or AV grenades, and you can't see them with Forge guns.
May as well put them on the underside for all the good that does. |

My understanding is that tanks only take something like 10% damage from small arms fire on most of their bodies but full on some specific spots. |

I think this is what the OP is referring to. Where are those spots? Do I smell skill book? |

Correct!
Also, as Ignatious stated (thanks for that, thought the percentage was just the falloff, didn't think it added multipliers), and i stated at the top, AV weapons can't really take advantage of the weakspots due to their fire-and-forget nature or the inability to sight the shot, as the case may be. Not only do we need to know WHERE to shoot, but the HOW seems to be a big issue as well.

If we now have the ability to do non-negligible damage with an AR by shooting in a specific spot, doesn't that seem like the kind of thing we should be informed of? Nobody was bothering to snipe odd bits of tank in the corp matches, because for the entirety of this beta that has been a surefire way to get yourself laughed at all the way to the morgue.
We're just supposed to figure this stuff out in the heat of battle by trial and error? |

no, swarms cant lock on to a weak spot. everyone can use one however, so you can have 50 people shooting swarms and also have a smg.
however, i DO know of a certain suit that can use a certain weapon that you can AIM at the weak spot if your are specced for AV.....hrm..... |

The charge sniper is meant to be able to hit the weak spots, but there is a glitch apparently. I'll have to use its scope to find the weak spots for future use. |

I stated that Forge Guns were the only AV that could take advantage of this above, Mr. Lurch.
And 50 people can't even be in one match :P |

STB....defending tanks...you don't say.
You want everyone running around with swarms? Thank god your teammates are doing the same thing so no one ever gets killed by snipers, or ARs, or shotguns...or anything....
And we all know forges have been nerfed into comedy land, forge heavies are the funniest thing on the battlefield these days (aside from mass driver heavies, mass drivers with no nanohives = lmao) |
