I heard that soon after launch there's going to be a free expansion with more maps and such. I've been thinking about what kind of DLC (via PSN store) they could implement other than purchasing Aurum and possibly a few unique dropsuits, and weapons.
What would you like to possibly see? Share your ideas!

What he said, Expansions will be based around more integration with EVE. Like industry etc etc and will all be free.
Don't expect to see masses of new content till everything is fully integrated. |

Yeah I don't quite get the point in "DLC" for a game like Dust. I mean it's supposed to be a persistent world right? |

Yes, but i doubt very much that the actual intent of this game will work if they start charging for expansions. It's always been CCP's thing to give that stuff away for nothing and add to the playerbase by doing so. |

DLCs are optional downloadable content that you pay for. CCP does not do optional nor charge you for new content.
Now for the question by the OP. I say we go with what Eve citizens have always wanted. An invasion to WoW so we can decimate them all. |

I never said they charged for expansions...I even said it was free...
Besides, it doesn't mean they can't charge for premium stuff like Aurum and put it in the PSN store for people to purchase just like the Mercenaries Pack, but different. |

They have a subscription based model for Eve and I GREATLY prefer that for any game. And I wouldn't call it 'forced'. Ontop of that you can play eve without paying a dime, you can use ingame money in lue of a subscription. Compair WoW to Eve, Wow you need to pay a subscription, P2W I think, and pay for expansions. Eve, you only need a subscription for pay in ingame money. Any microtransactions are optional.
Dust will likely follow Eve in terms of their expansions. They will be free and that maintains the persistant world. Seperating the gameworld into Paying members and free members is a bad plan and works against the F2P model. F2P is currently the dominant model because those games can quickly get a very LARGE playerbase which adds to the legitimacy of the game. I am thinking that with a few more years of this saturation of F2P games, the market won't have enough gamers with time to try new games and more F2P games will switch to a subscription. These companies that switch early will probably become powerhouses in the industry. |

a campaign, a zombie type mode, leadership skills, but most importantly just for the game to run smother eliminate bugs and fix some hit detection stuff. Also i would image it not being dlc but more of a rolling game such as it is now where every few months or weeks we get an update and this feature is added or this thing is changed. Pretty much a never ending Beta : p I have faith in CCP and am very excited to see what the game looks like a year from now. |

At Fanfest CCP hinted rather heavily that mechs (MTACs) would be in one of the first expansions, and that they'd like to eventually allow combat across lava and low-G worlds, which means purely vehicular stuff - possibly like old-skool Descent or even Shattered Horizon.
I live in hope for ALL of the above. |

There won't ever be a campaign just so you know, eve is a player driven world where one guy can control countless solar systems. Either as a tyrant or a benevolent leader, in the future dust will play a role in there level of control whether there group owns a system will rely as much on us dusters as it does the capsuleers. In a environment like this there is no room for a campaign sorry. |

Most likely there wont be paid DLC as most people know it. There will be regular free updates adding new stuff.
This will not work like a normal FPS where you buy map packs or whatever. It'll be more like a free-to-play MMO that is adding new stuff all time time, because...well, it is a free-to-play MMO, albeit one with FPS combat. |

I'm hoping that they continue with paid for DLC not unlike the merc pack, with interesting alternate suits and equipment with interesting, but not overpowered differences from the standard versions...
Maybe each pack could be themed, for example; a black ops pack, with;
low signiture/hp scout suit, silenced smg hacking module?
and other consumable odds and ends, such as grenades etc...
... but I also like the idea of jove equipment being around somewhere...

Nonononono, I agree lol! I should word things better in the future.. but yes, Eve expansions have been free, I also prefer the payment model they have set up, I just think they might end up charging for expansions because they already gave the option to charge you to get in the beta. Imho that looks like a test on how willing folks would be to spend their money on game acess just once to keep playing. Not only that, but being that purchase information is stored on your ps3.. it to makes purchases much more streamlined with the ps store and whatnot. However, that isint concurrent with their past as has been said, I can only imagine how many other ways they will tempt consumers to spend their monies on nonsense. Id rather pay for an expansion than a voice transmitter... feel me? |

I should elaborate, I would like all the expansions to be free like with eve (and this does seem to be the direction ccp are going)
fighter aircraft, MTACS, exploration if it is in it (here's hoping...) and so on.
beyond Aur equipment I see a space for more like the merc pack, this could aid those not used to the eve fitting system by giving them a basic load out of 'quirky' equipment...
If done well I see myself buying more packs,
and I'm more likely to make one off payments like that, than pay monthly fees or for regular expansions,
I'm not sure if there are many more like me out there, but the direction that this game is going suits me well.
