find a sniper that plays for the team and he'll take out the important ones, like people trying to destroy a tank giving them a good battle foothold, or someone capturin an objective - majority of the time though, yeah its just anything that moves |

Altered, and a bit um... stereotyped.. Sure there's always exceptions. |

Hopefully it'll be better with Active Scanners - maybe they'll give points for spotting targets like they said in Fan Fest. |

I'm a sniper and I say "screw the rewards". I'm in it to help my team win. Besides, as others have mentioned, I am sitting far across the map in a safe area where almost no one can see me while I one-shot-kill mercs like fish in a barrel while my friends are dying in a blaze of glory to HAVs, LAVs, dropships, and other snipers like me. If anything, the assault mercs deserve better rewards. |

When we talk about snipers we're referring to people who are sitting somewhere shooting people with a sniper rifle. It's great that you took all that time to write that post up, but that's not relevant to this thread. If you're dropping uplinks all over the place and otherwise "on the frontlines with my fellow logistics and assaults" then that's not what this thread is about. Although if you think assault or logistics roles aren't being adequately rewarded you're certainly welcome to make your own thread about it. What you're talking about is shooting a long billed bird. Now unless I am sadly mistaken, there are no freakin' birds in the game. It's not a sniper rifle. It's a railgun. Again, you are right. Apparently this thread is about killing snipes, but I haven't seen the bird mentioned once. Did I say assault or logistics roles aren't being adequately rewarded? So if this thread is about snipers, it has been massively derailed and exploded by a nuke. Drugs are bad, kids. Mods, lock please? He is actually right you did say in your post that a sniper fires from a hidden location aka a mountain on the redline what you would be is what the U.S. military calls a designated marksman (DM)
"The DM role differs significantly from that of a specially trained sniper. A sniper is a specialist highly trained in fieldcraft who carries out a range of specific missions independent of others, and more specialized than standard infantry tasks. In contrast, a DM is a soldier who has received some additional marksmanship training. The DM's role is to provide an additional capability to the infantry platoon, which is the ability to engage targets at greater ranges than the other members of the squad or section.
The DM operates as an integral member of the infantry platoon, providing a niche capability contributing to the overall firepower of the platoon in the same way as a grenadier with a rifle-mounted grenade launcher, allowing the team to have a better chance against groups of enemies and armored vehicles; or the machine gunner who employs the squad/section machine gun to lay down suppressing fire for an amount of area denial to the enemy. The DM weapon provides a capability to the infantry platoon in the shape of increased precision at a greater range than that provided by the standard infantry rifle, by virtue of its sighting system and/or larger caliber. By comparison, the sniper role is much more specialized with very comprehensive selection, training and equipment." |

Only 10k? I get closer to twenty or thirty most matches as a logi if i am active with my duties. Perhas you need to work more closely with your squad mates. |

On a good day I get 10k SP per match. Dude, i am a logi and i get between 18k and 25k. You are doing something wrong, are you reviving people? It's super inconsistent, and it seems to be going up a bit. I played last night and was getting 20k+ every match. The hard part of logi is that your warpoints are heavily dependent on how much teamwork you get out of your allies. If you have a team of snipers and lonewolves you'll never get to rep, revive, or resupply and everyone will pick the default random spawns over your uplinks. By contrast, on maps where my team is showing some semblance of coherence my drop uplinks get used consistently, there's almost always someone in my nanohives, and since people are staying close by I can be there to revive them right away. I've pulled in 50k in a match and I only got, like, three kills. agreed.. that's what I do in my Logi setups... lay down drop links.. follow a group of people.. when a firefight breaks out, drop a nanohive and work the repair tool keeping the heavies on their feet... heavies get ganged up on alot but can do dmg and alot more just no logi to assist stick by me man.. I got you covered...
